我們知道，我們的舊我已經和基督一起被釘十字架，好讓罪的身體被廢除，使我們不再做罪的奴僕，

蓋知我儕舊日之我、舊日之我原文作本體之舊人與之同釘十字架、以滅罪身、使我儕不復為罪所役、

應知吾人之故我、已與之同釘於十字架上；於是罪孽之身、已蕩然毀滅、而吾人不復為罪孽之奴矣。

For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin—

We know that what we used to be was nailed to the cross with him. That happened so our bodies that were ruled by sin would lose their power. So we are no longer slaves of sin.

所以現在活著的不再是我，而是基督在我裡面活著；並且如今我在肉體中活著，是因信神的兒子而活；他愛我，甚至為我捨棄了自己。

至於我，除了我們主耶穌基督的十字架以外，我絕不以別的誇耀。因這十字架，對我來說，世界已經被釘十字架了；對世界來說，我也已經被釘十字架了。

那些屬於基督耶穌的人，已經把肉體與肉體的渴望和情慾一同釘上十字架了。

為了你們脫去在過去行為上的舊人。這舊人順著迷惑人的私慾受敗壞，

耶穌回答：「我確確實實地告訴你們：所有犯罪的，就是罪的奴隸。奴隸不會永遠住在家裡，兒子卻會永遠住在家裡。所以，如果子使你們自由，你們就真正自由了。

所以，當把你們屬世的各個部分看為死了的，就如淫亂、汙穢、邪情、惡慾和貪心，貪心就是拜偶像。

不要彼此說謊，因你們已經脫去了舊人和舊人的所作所為，並且穿上了新人。這新人照著創造他那一位的形像不斷地被更新，以致真正認識他。

因為你們如果順著肉體而活，就將死去；但如果順著聖靈治死身體的所作所為，就將活著。

但如今，你們既從罪中得了釋放，成為神的奴僕，就得了果子，以致分別為聖，那結局就是永恆的生命。

我這個人真是可悲呀！誰能救我脫離這屬於死亡的身體呢？藉著我們的主耶穌基督，感謝歸於神！由此可見，我自己一方面在理性上服從神的法則，另一方面在肉體中卻服從罪的法則。

在他裡面，你們也受了割禮，不是藉著人的手，而是藉著脫去那血肉之軀，藉著基督的割禮。你們既然在洗禮中與基督一同被埋葬，也就在洗禮中與基督一同復活了，這是藉著相信使基督從死人中復活之神的作為。

因肉體軟弱的緣故，律法所做不到的，神卻做到了——神派遣了自己的兒子成為罪的肉身樣式，並且為了贖罪，用肉身判決了罪，使律法的公義規定，成全在我們這些不順著肉體卻順著聖靈行走的人身上。

耶和華我們的神哪，除你以外曾有別的主人管轄我們，但唯獨對你，我們要記念你的名！

所以，不要讓罪在你們會死的身體上掌權，使你們順從身體的私慾；
