夫法者、刑戮之器也；法之不存、何犯之有。

because the law brings wrath. And where there is no law there is no transgression.

The law brings God’s anger. Where there is no law, the law can’t be broken.

For the law brings wrath, but where there is no law there is no transgression.

For the law always brings punishment on those who try to obey it.( The only way to avoid breaking the law is to have no law to break!)

The sting of death is sin; and the power of sin is the law:

Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it speaketh to them that are under the law; that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may be brought under the judgment of God:because by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified in his sight; for through the law cometh the knowledge of sin.

What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Howbeit, I had not known sin, except through the law: for I had not known coveting, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet:but sin, finding occasion, wrought in me through the commandment all manner of coveting: for apart from the law sin is dead.And I was alive apart from the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died;and the commandment, which was unto life, this I found to be unto death:for sin, finding occasion, through the commandment beguiled me, and through it slew me.So that the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and righteous, and good.Did then that which is good become death unto me? But sin, that it might be shown to be sin, by working death to me through that which is good;— that through the commandment sin might become exceeding sinful.For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.For that which I do I know not: for not what I would, that do I practise; but what I hate, that I do.But if what I would not, that I do, I consent unto the law that it is good.So now it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwelleth in me.For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me, but to do that which is good is not.For the good which I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I practise.But if what I would not, that I do, it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwelleth in me.I find then the law, that, to me who would do good, evil is present.For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:but I see a different law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity under the law of sin which is in my members.Wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me out of the body of this death?I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. And the law came in besides, that the trespass might abound; but where sin abounded, grace did abound more exceedingly:that, as sin reigned in death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Every one that doeth sin doeth also lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.

He that believeth on the Son hath eternal life; but he that obeyeth not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him.

The times of ignorance therefore God overlooked; but now he commandeth men that they should all everywhere repent:inasmuch as he hath appointed a day in which he will judge the world in righteousness by the man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

But if the ministration of death, written, and engraven on stones, came with glory, so that the children of Israel could not look stedfastly upon the face of Moses for the glory of his face; which glory was passing away:how shall not rather the ministration of the spirit be with glory?For if the ministration of condemnation hath glory, much rather doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.

but after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up for thyself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;who will render to every man according to his works:

If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no excuse for their sin.

What then is the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise hath been made; and it was ordained through angels by the hand of a mediator.

For as many as have sinned without the law shall also perish without the law: and as many as have sinned under the law shall be judged by the law;for not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified;

Thou hast called, as in the day of a solemn assembly, my terrors on every side; And there was none that escaped or remained in the day of Jehovah’s anger: Those that I have dandled and brought up hath mine enemy consumed.

Jehovah will not pardon him, but then the anger of Jehovah and his jealousy will smoke against that man, and all the curse that is written in this book shall lie upon him, and Jehovah will blot out his name from under heaven.And Jehovah will set him apart unto evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that is written in this book of the law.And the generation to come, your children that shall rise up after you, and the foreigner that shall come from a far land, shall say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses wherewith Jehovah hath made it sick;and that the whole land thereof is brimstone, and salt, and a burning, that it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grass groweth therein, like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, which Jehovah overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath:even all the nations shall say, Wherefore hath Jehovah done thus unto this land? what meaneth the heat of this great anger?Then men shall say, Because they forsook the covenant of Jehovah, the God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt,and went and served other gods, and worshipped them, gods that they knew not, and that he had not given unto them:therefore the anger of Jehovah was kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curse that is written in this book;and Jehovah rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as at this day.

Let no man deceive you with empty words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the sons of disobedience.

Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of Jehovah’s wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he will make an end, yea, a terrible end, of all them that dwell in the land.

For this gird you with sackcloth, lament and wail; for the fierce anger of Jehovah is not turned back from us.

They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be as an unclean thing; their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of Jehovah: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels; because it hath been the stumblingblock of their iniquity.

For therein is revealed a righteousness of God from faith unto faith: as it is written, But the righteous shall live by faith.

Go ye, inquire of Jehovah for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found; for great is the wrath of Jehovah that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not hearkened unto the words of this book, to do according unto all that which is written concerning us.

for which things’ sake cometh the wrath of God upon the sons of disobedience:

And, behold, ye are risen up in your fathers’ stead, an increase of sinful men, to augment yet the fierce anger of Jehovah toward Israel.

And out of his mouth proceedeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness of the wrath of God, the Almighty.

and they say to the mountains and to the rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:for the great day of their wrath is come; and who is able to stand?
