Therefore do not let what you know is good be spoken of as evil.

So suppose you know something is good. Then don’t let it be spoken of as if it were evil.

So do not let what you regard as good be spoken of as evil.

Then you will not be criticized for doing something you believe is good.

I do not mean yours but the other person’s. For why is my freedom being judged by another’s conscience?If I partake with thankfulness, why am I blamed for the food that I give thanks for?

Do not repay anyone evil for evil; consider what is good before all people.

We did this as a precaution so that no one should blame us in regard to this generous gift we are administering.For we are concerned about what is right not only before the Lord but also before men.

Stay away from every form of evil.
