勿圖情欲、以任所嗜、惟主耶穌基督是佩是服、

惟衣被主耶穌基督、爾為身慮、勿致縱慾、

Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.

Instead, put on the Lord Jesus Christ as if he were your clothing. Don’t think about how to satisfy sinful desires.

But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.

Instead, clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And don’t let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires.

新我者、按天主之典型、依仁義之真諦而締造者也。

爾中凡已領洗而歸依基督者、實已服膺基督、有如衣之被體焉。

親愛之同道乎、人生在世、猶如作客他鄉、務望自愛、切弗縱情恣慾、以戕賊心靈。

吾故曰：爾等亟應努力於靈修、而不可縱情恣慾也。蓋情慾長則靈心消、靈心長則情慾消；兩者相敵、致爾心有餘而力不足。

而易以新人矣。是宜日新又新、止於良知、而克肖作育新人之主也。既云新人、則不復分異邦人與猶太人、割禮中人與非割禮中人、化外人與西古提人、為奴之人與自由之人矣。蓋基督包羅萬有、而寓乎萬有也、爾等既為天主寵愛之子民、亟宜以慈善、謙恭、忍耐為佩、寬容大量、彼此體諒、

凡屬於基督者皆已將其肉體及一切情慾同釘於十字架。

故兄弟應知吾人既不為肉身之役、自無順從情慾之責。爾如從欲、取死之道也。存神去欲、得生之道也。

故應將一切卑污之心事、置諸死地，凡淫亂、卑污、邪情、惡慾、貪孌、莫非崇拜偶像之變相、而天主所以譴怒其悖逆之子者、正為此等事耳。爾等舊日生活、亦嘗沉溺於此；今望爾等毅然棄絕、亦望蕩滌憤怒嫉恨、舉凡謗誹之言、污穢之語、

毋戀世俗世物；人若戀世、安得有愛慕天父之情、存乎其心。蓋世間所有、不外物欲聲色、榮華富貴。凡此皆非本乎天父、乃本乎人世。而人世及其所貪圖者、皆暫而不久、俯仰之間、已為陳跡。惟有遵行天主聖意之人、可大可久、永古長存。
