But If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him something to drink. For in so doing you will be heaping fiery coals on his head.

敵飢則食之、渴則飲之、如是而行、猶以爇炭集厥首、

敵饑則飼之、渴則飲之、猶以爇炭集厥首、

爾敵饑則飼之、渴則飲之、爾如是行、猶以熱炭置於其首、

故曰：『敵人飢則食之、渴則飲之、是不啻以烈火加厥頂。』

On the contrary:“ If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”

Do just the opposite. Scripture says,“ If your enemies are hungry, give them food to eat. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. By doing those things, you will pile up burning coals on their heads.”( Proverbs 25:21, 22)

To the contrary,“ if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.”

Instead,“ If your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals of shame on their heads.”

But If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him something to drink. For in so doing you will be heaping fiery coals on his head.

But if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him to drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head.

But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

“ But I say to you who listen: Love your enemies, do what is good to those who hate you,

“ If you come across your enemy’s stray ox or donkey, you must return it to him.“ If you see the donkey of someone who hates you lying helpless under its load, and you want to refrain from helping it, you must help with it.

Elisha replied,“ Don’t kill them. Do you kill those you have captured with your sword or your bow? Set food and water in front of them so they can eat and drink and go to their master.”

Set me as a seal on your heart, as a seal on your arm. For love is as strong as death; ardent love is as unrelenting as Sheol. Love’s flames are fiery flames— the fiercest of all.Mighty waters cannot extinguish love; rivers cannot sweep it away. If a man were to give all his wealth for love, it would be utterly scorned.

When David finished saying these things to him, Saul replied,“ Is that your voice, David my son?” Then Saul wept aloudand said to David,“ You are more righteous than I, for you have done what is good to me though I have done what is evil to you.You yourself have told me today what good you did for me: when the Lord handed me over to you, you didn’t kill me.When a man finds his enemy, does he let him go unharmed? May the Lord repay you with good for what you’ve done for me today.

Saul responded,“ I have sinned. Come back, my son David, I will never harm you again because today you considered my life precious. I have been a fool! I’ve committed a grave error.”

Let hot coals fall on them. Let them be thrown into the fire, into the abyss, never again to rise.
