Therefore, consider God’s kindness and severity: severity toward those who have fallen but God’s kindness toward you— if you remain in His kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off.

不見天主之慈而且嚴、寬猛相濟乎？其於隕越者、亦云嚴矣；而於爾曹、亦云慈矣。

Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off.

Think about how kind God is! Also think about how firm he is! He was hard on those who stopped following him. But he is kind to you. So you must continue to live in his kindness. If you don’t, you also will be cut off.

Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God’s kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off.

Notice how God is both kind and severe. He is severe toward those who disobeyed, but kind to you if you continue to trust in his kindness. But if you stop trusting, you also will be cut off.

Therefore, consider God’s kindness and severity: severity toward those who have fallen but God’s kindness toward you— if you remain in his kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off.

See then the kindness and severity of God: to those who fell, severity, but to you, God’s kindness, if you continue in His kindness; for otherwise you too will be cut off.

Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off.

Behold then the goodness and severity of God: toward them that fell, severity; but toward thee, God’s goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

Notice therefore the kindness and harshness of God– harshness toward those who have fallen, but God’s kindness toward you, provided you continue in his kindness; otherwise you also will be cut off.

See then the goodness and severity of God. Toward those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in his goodness; otherwise you also will be cut off.

For we have become companions of the Messiah if we hold firmly until the end the reality that we had at the start.

Every branch in Me that does not produce fruit He removes, and He prunes every branch that produces fruit so that it will produce more fruit.

But Christ was faithful as a Son over His household. And we are that household if we hold on to the courage and the confidence of our hope.

You are also saved by it, if you hold to the message I proclaimed to you— unless you believed for no purpose.

Let us hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

So we must not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up.

So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed Him,“ If you continue in My word, you really are My disciples.

So don’t throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.For you need endurance, so that after you have done God’s will, you may receive what was promised.For yet in a very little while, the Coming One will come and not delay.But My righteous one will live by faith; and if he draws back, I have no pleasure in him.But we are not those who draw back and are destroyed, but those who have faith and obtain life.

For now we live, if you stand firm in the Lord.

Remember then how far you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. Otherwise, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place— unless you repent.

Or do you despise the riches of His kindness, restraint, and patience, not recognizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?But because of your hardness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath, when God’s righteous judgment is revealed.

but hurled Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea. His love is eternal.He led His people in the wilderness. His love is eternal.He struck down great kings His love is eternal.and slaughtered famous kings— His love is eternal.Sihon king of the Amorites His love is eternal.and Og king of Bashan— His love is eternal.and gave their land as an inheritance, His love is eternal.an inheritance to Israel His servant. His love is eternal.

strengthening the disciples by encouraging them to continue in the faith and by telling them,“ It is necessary to pass through many troubles on our way into the kingdom of God.”

When he arrived and saw the grace of God, he was glad and encouraged all of them to remain true to the Lord with a firm resolve of the heart,

Since every good thing the Lord your God promised you has come about, so He will bring on you every bad thing until He has annihilated you from this good land the Lord your God has given you.If you break the covenant of the Lord your God, which He commanded you, and go and worship other gods, and bow down to them, the Lord’s anger will burn against you, and you will quickly disappear from this good land He has given you.”

But the seed in the good ground— these are the ones who, having heard the word with an honest and good heart, hold on to it and by enduring, bear fruit.

The righteous one will rejoice when he sees the retribution; he will wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.Then people will say,“ Yes, there is a reward for the righteous! There is a God who judges on earth!”

See now that I alone am He; there is no God but Me. I bring death and I give life; I wound and I heal. No one can rescue anyone from My hand.I raise My hand to heaven and declare: As surely as I live forever,when I sharpen My flashing sword, and My hand takes hold of judgment, I will take vengeance on My adversaries and repay those who hate Me.I will make My arrows drunk with blood while My sword devours flesh— the blood of the slain and the captives, the heads of the enemy leaders.”Rejoice, you nations, concerning His people, for He will avenge the blood of His servants. He will take vengeance on His adversaries; He will purify His land and His people.

And don’t presume to say to yourselves,‘ We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you that God is able to raise up children for Abraham from these stones!Even now the ax is ready to strike the root of the trees! Therefore, every tree that doesn’t produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.

But when a righteous person turns from his righteousness and practices iniquity, committing the same detestable acts that the wicked do, will he live? None of the righteous acts he did will be remembered. He will die because of the treachery he has engaged in and the sin he has committed.

But you, dear friends, as you build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit,keep yourselves in the love of God, expecting the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ for eternal life.

“ But your people say,‘ The Lord’s way isn’t fair,’ even though it is their own way that isn’t fair.When a righteous person turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, he will die on account of this.But if a wicked person turns from his wickedness and does what is just and right, he will live because of this.

You will see, you will rejoice, and you will flourish like grass; then the Lord’s power will be revealed to His servants, but He will show His wrath against His enemies.

He sent His burning anger against them: fury, indignation, and calamity— a band of deadly messengers.He cleared a path for His anger. He did not spare them from death but delivered their lives to the plague.He struck all the firstborn in Egypt, the first progeny of the tents of Ham.He led His people out like sheep and guided them like a flock in the wilderness.

And what if God, desiring to display His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much patience objects of wrath ready for destruction?And what if He did this to make known the riches of His glory on objects of mercy that He prepared beforehand for glory—

eternal life to those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor, and immortality;

Remain in Me, and I in you. Just as a branch is unable to produce fruit by itself unless it remains on the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in Me.“ I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing without Me.If anyone does not remain in Me, he is thrown aside like a branch and he withers. They gather them, throw them into the fire, and they are burned.If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you want and it will be done for you.My Father is glorified by this: that you produce much fruit and prove to be My disciples.“ As the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you. Remain in My love.If you keep My commands you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commands and remain in His love.

The Lord is slow to anger and rich in faithful love, forgiving wrongdoing and rebellion. But He will not leave the guilty unpunished, bringing the consequences of the fathers’ wrongdoing on the children to the third and fourth generation.Please pardon the wrongdoing of this people, in keeping with the greatness of Your faithful love, just as You have forgiven them from Egypt until now.”The Lord responded,“ I have pardoned them as you requested.Yet as surely as I live and as the whole earth is filled with the Lord’s glory,none of the men who have seen My glory and the signs I performed in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tested Me these 10 times and did not obey Me,

For this reason, when I could no longer stand it, I also sent him to find out about your faith, fearing that the tempter had tempted you and that our labor might be for nothing.

Now if a righteous person turns from his righteousness and practices iniquity, and I put a stumbling block in front of him, he will die. If you did not warn him, he will die because of his sin and the righteous acts he did will not be remembered. Yet I will hold you responsible for his blood.
