曰、未信之、何能龥之、未聞之、何能信之、

然未信之、何能籲之、未聞之、何能信之、無傳者、何能聞乎、

然而苟不信之、何由籲之、苟不聞之、何由信之；苟不傳之、何有聞之；

How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?

How can they call on him unless they believe in him? How can they believe in him unless they hear about him? How can they hear about him unless someone preaches to them?

How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?

他又对他们说：“你们往普天下去，传福音给万民听。信而受洗的必然得救，不信的必被定罪。

到了适当的时机，藉着传扬福音，把他的道显明了；这传扬的责任是按着我们的救主神的命令交托给我的—

又对他们说：“照经上所写的，基督必受害，第三天从死人中复活，并且人们要奉他的名传悔改、使罪得赦的道，从耶路撒冷起直传到万邦。

如果你们听过他的道，领了他的教，因为真理就在耶稣里，

出于信心的祈祷必能救那病人，主必叫他起来；他若犯了罪，也必蒙赦免。

我也要救你脱离百姓和外邦人的手。我差你到他们那里去，要开他们的眼睛，使他们从黑暗中转向光明，从撒但权下归向神；使他们因信我而得蒙赦罪，和一切成圣的人同得基业。’”

惟有主站在我身边，加给我力量，使我能把福音完整地传开，让所有的外邦人都听见；我也从狮子口里被救出来。

惟有神能照我所传的福音和所讲的耶稣基督，并照历代以来隐藏的奥秘的启示，坚固你们。这奥秘如今显示出来，而且按着永生神的命令，藉众先知的书指示万民，使他们因信而顺服。

我们从他蒙恩受了使徒的职分，为他的名在万国中使人因信而顺服，

尼尼微人就信服神，宣告禁食，从最大的到最小的都穿上麻衣。这消息传到尼尼微王那里，他就从宝座起来，脱下朝服，披上麻布，坐在灰中。他叫人通告尼尼微全城，说：“王和大臣有令，人、畜、牛、羊都不可尝任何东西，不可吃，也不可喝水。人与牲畜都要披上麻布，切切求告神。各人要回转离开恶道，离弃自己掌中的残暴。谁知道神也许会回心转意，不发烈怒，使我们不致灭亡。”

他说：“我是希伯来人，我敬畏耶和华，天上的神，他创造了沧海和陆地。”那些人就大大惧怕，对他说：“你做的是什么事呢？”原来他们已经知道他在躲避耶和华，因为他告诉了他们。海浪越来越汹涌，他们就问他说：“我们当向你做什么，才能使海浪平静呢？”

没有信，就不能讨神的喜悦，因为到神面前来的人必须信有神，并且信他会赏赐寻求他的人。

他说：“没有人指教我，怎能明白呢？”于是他请腓利上车，与他同坐。

但记载这些事是要使你们信耶稣是基督，是神的儿子，并且使你们信他，好因着他的名得生命。

问他们：“你们信的时候领受了圣灵没有？”他们说：“没有，我们连什么是圣灵都没有听过。”

水手都惧怕，各人哀求自己的神明。他们把船上的货物抛进海里，为要减轻载重。约拿却下到舱底，躺卧沉睡。

“论到不属你百姓以色列的外邦人，若为你的名从远方而来，他们因听见你的大名和大能的手，以及伸出来的膀臂，来向这殿祷告，求你在天上你的居所垂听，照着外邦人向你所求的一切而行，使地上万民都认识你的名，敬畏你，像你的百姓以色列一样，又使他们知道我所建造的是称为你名下的殿。

那些人就大大惧怕耶和华，向耶和华献祭许愿。
