那些洗净自己衣裳的人有福了！他们有权吃生命树的果子，也可以从城门进入城中。

同样，耶稣也在城门外受难，为要用自己的血使祂的子民圣洁。

弟兄们是靠着羔羊的血和自己所见证的道战胜了它，他们甘愿牺牲，视死如归。

更何况基督借着永恒的灵把自己毫无瑕疵地献给上帝呢？祂的血岂不更能洗净我们的良心，使我们脱离导致灭亡的行为，以便事奉永活的上帝吗？

那时，约书亚穿着污秽的衣服站在天使面前。天使对侍立在周围的说：“脱掉他污秽的衣服。”他又对约书亚说：“看啊，我已除掉你的罪，我要给你穿上华美的衣服。”我说：“要给他戴上洁净的礼冠。”他们便给他戴上洁净的礼冠、穿上华美的衣服。那时，耶和华的天使站在旁边。

我把这些事告诉你们，是要叫你们在我里面有平安。你们在世上会有苦难，但你们要放心，我已经胜过这个世界。”

坚固各地门徒的信心，鼓励他们要持守信仰，并且说：“我们在进入上帝国的道路上必经历许多苦难。”

‘我知道你遭受的苦难和贫穷，其实你是富足的。我也知道那些人对你的毁谤，他们自称为犹太人，其实不是，而是撒旦的同伙。

我看见一个好像夹杂着火的玻璃海，玻璃海上站着那些战胜怪兽、兽像及兽名代号的人。他们手里拿着上帝所赐的竖琴，

我又见她醉了，因她喝了众圣徒的血，就是为耶稣做见证之人的血。我看见她，非常惊奇。

因此，我们在上帝的众教会中夸奖你们在各种迫害和患难中的坚忍和信心。

羔羊揭开第五印的时候，我看到一个祭坛，祭坛下有许多灵魂，都是为传扬上帝的道、为祂做见证而被杀的。他们大声喊着说：“圣洁真实的主宰啊，还要等多久呢？为什么你还不审判地上那些屠杀我们的人，为我们申冤呢？”这时有白袍赐给他们，有声音告诉他们要再稍候片刻，直到和他们同做奴仆的弟兄被杀害的数目满了为止。
