爾所受所聞者、當記憶謹守、亦當悔改、如爾不警醒、我必忽臨爾如盜之至、爾不能知我何時臨爾、

應回憶所受所聞之教義拳拳服膺、而痛悔前失。如再不醒寤、吾必襲爾、猶不速之客突如其來、爾固無從逆知其時刻也。

所以，應當回想你是從哪裏墜落的，並要悔改，行起初所行的事。你若不悔改，我就臨到你那裏，把你的燈臺從原處挪去。

因為你們自己明明曉得，主的日子來到，好像夜間的賊一樣。

但主的日子要像賊來到一樣。那日，天必大有響聲廢去，有形質的都要被烈火銷化，地和其上的物都要燒盡了。

所以，你們要警醒，因為不知道你們的主是哪一天來到。家主若知道幾更天有賊來，就必警醒，不容人挖透房屋；這是你們所知道的。

家主若知道賊甚麼時候來，就必警醒，不容賊挖透房屋，這是你們所知道的。你們也要預備；因為你們想不到的時候，人子就來了。」

看哪，我來像賊一樣。那警醒、看守衣服、免得赤身而行、叫人見他羞恥的有福了！）

親愛的弟兄啊，我現在寫給你們的是第二封信。這兩封都是提醒你們，激發你們誠實的心，

弟兄們，你們卻不在黑暗裏，叫那日子臨到你們像賊一樣。你們都是光明之子，都是白晝之子。我們不是屬黑夜的，也不是屬幽暗的。所以，我們不要睡覺像別人一樣，總要警醒謹守。

所以，你們要警醒；因為那日子，那時辰，你們不知道。」

提摩太啊，你要保守所託付你的，躲避世俗的虛談和那敵真道、似是而非的學問。

所以，我們當越發鄭重所聽見的道理，恐怕我們隨流失去。

但你們已經有的，總要持守，直等到我來。

你們要謹慎，警醒祈禱，因為你們不曉得那日期幾時來到。

那時，你們必追想你們的惡行和你們不善的作為，就因你們的罪孽和可憎的事厭惡自己。

凡我所疼愛的，我就責備管教他；所以你要發熱心，也要悔改。

恐怕他忽然來到，看見你們睡着了。

我曾給她悔改的機會，她卻不肯悔改她的淫行。看哪，我要叫她病臥在牀。那些與她行淫的人，若不悔改所行的，我也要叫他們同受大患難。

你從我聽的那純正話語的規模，要用在基督耶穌裏的信心和愛心，常常守着。

你接待你姊姊和你妹妹的時候，你要追念你所行的，自覺慚愧；並且我要將她們賜你為女兒，卻不是按着前約。我要堅定與你所立的約（你就知道我是耶和華），好使你在我赦免你一切所行的時候，心裏追念，自覺抱愧，又因你的羞辱就不再開口。這是主耶和華說的。」

我以為應當趁我還在這帳棚的時候提醒你們，激發你們；

我必快來，你要持守你所有的，免得人奪去你的冠冕。

你們在那裏要追念玷污自己的行動作為，又要因所做的一切惡事厭惡自己。
