爾自謂富有、綽有餘裕、而無所欠缺；殊不知爾實為百無聊賴、貧窮不堪、盲而裸者。

時一老者詢予曰：「彼身着白袍者誰？何自而來也？」

凡厚積私財、而貧於天爵者、皆此類也。』

迪我以聖謨。入我光榮錄。

爾之憂患、爾之窮乏、吾所知也。雖然、爾實貧而富者也！彼自名為義塞人而非義塞人、實屬沙殫之黨羽者、謗爾誣爾、吾亦知之。

吾主耶穌基督之慷慨、固爾等之所知也。彼乃萬有之主也、顧為爾等之故、甘成貧窮、俾爾等因彼之貧窮、而成富有。

人若在此基礎之上有所建築、則無論其為金也、銀也、玉也、木也、茅草也禾稿也、要之各人之工作、終必昭然若揭、無可隱匿。在主之日、主將以炬火燭照各人之工程、且加以煆煉焉。

為我開明悟。主恩豈不富。夙夜無敢荒。惟恐忝大父。

智者對曰：「共用恐將不給、盍就市購之。」

爾等則沐聖神之膏澤、了悟萬事。吾致書於爾等者、非以爾等不識真諦、正以爾等已識真諦、而真之與妄、不相為謀耳。夫誰為妄人、其惟否認耶穌為基督者歟。若是之人、即是反基督、既不認父、亦不認子。拒其子者、不得其父；認其子者、乃得其父。爾其慎旃務使所素聞者常寓爾衷。苟得所素聞者常寓爾衷、則爾亦必獲常寓聖子、乃至聖父之懷中。此即永生、亦即天主所夙許於吾人之恩諾也。吾作此語、乃欲斥責一般意圖搖奪爾心之人也。若夫爾等、則固有聖神之膏澤、常潤爾心、實無庸人之喋喋也、蓋聖神之膏澤、循循善誘、真實無妄。務望爾等於其所誨、拳拳服膺、守之勿失。

不敬天命。遘此鞠凶。

雅不欲赤身露體、而無所被服也。

亦欲吾人努力為善、富於美德、慷慨為懷、博施濟眾而已矣。
