可是長老中有一位對我說：「不要哭了！看哪，那出於猶大支派的獅子、大衛的根已經得勝，可以打開那書卷和它的七個封印。」

並且我們有先知更確切的話語。你們如果留心這些話語，把它當做照耀在暗處的燈，一直到天光破曉、晨星在你們心中升起，你們就做得很好了。

從耶西的樹墩必發出一個嫩芽，從他的根而出的枝子必結果實。

約翰，致那在亞細亞省的七個教會：願恩典與平安，從今在、昔在、將要來臨的那一位，從他寶座前的七個靈，

他們問：「生下來做猶太人之王的那一位在哪裡？我們在東方看見了他的星，就來了要朝拜他。」

見證這些事的那一位說：「是的，我快要來了！」阿們！主耶穌啊，願你來！

祖先也是他們的；照著肉身說，基督也是出自他們的——他是那在萬有之上當受頌讚的神，直到永遠！阿們。

對他說：『萬軍之耶和華如此說：看哪，那名字稱為「苗裔」的人，必從自己的地方長出，並要建造耶和華的聖殿；

耶穌基督的啟示，就是神賜給他，要他指示給他奴僕們的那些必須快發生的事。基督藉著他的天使，向他的奴僕約翰傳達並指明了那些事。

「凡是有耳的，就應當聽聖靈向各教會所說的話！」

隨後，天使對我說：「這些話是信實的、真實的。主——眾先知之靈的神，差派了他的天使，要把這些必須快發生的事指示給他的奴僕們。」

說：「關於基督，你們怎麼看？他是誰的後裔呢？」他們說：「是大衛的後裔。」

我還要把晨星賜給他。「凡是有耳的，就應當聽聖靈向各教會所說的話！

接著，天使給我看一條生命水的河，明亮如水晶，從神和羔羊的寶座流出來，

「凡是有耳的，就應當聽聖靈向各教會所說的話！那得勝的，我將要賜給他那隱藏的嗎哪。我還要賜給他一塊白石頭，石頭上有一個寫好的新名字，除了那領受的人以外，沒有人認識這名字。

耶穌基督——大衛的後裔、亞伯拉罕的後代——他的家譜：

行不義的，讓他繼續行不義；骯髒的，讓他繼續骯髒；公義的，讓他繼續行公義；聖潔的，讓他繼續被分別為聖。」

「因此，大衛如果稱基督為『主』，基督怎麼會是大衛的後裔呢？」

「凡是有耳的，就應當聽聖靈向各教會所說的話！那得勝的，絕不會被第二次的死亡所傷害。

「凡是有耳的，就應當聽聖靈向各教會所說的話！那得勝的，我將要准許他吃神樂園中生命樹的果子。

於是，希律暗暗地召見了那幾個博士，向他們仔細詢問那顆星出現的時間，然後打發他們前往伯利恆，說：「你們去仔細查問有關那孩子的事，一旦查出來了就向我報告，好讓我也去拜他。」他們聽了王的話就去了。看哪，他們在東方看見的那顆星在前面引導他們，直到那孩子所在的地方，就在上頭停住了。他們看見那顆星，極其歡喜快樂。
