我知爾之作為、爾之勤勞、爾之忍耐、亦知爾不容惡類、自稱為使徒、實非使徒者、爾已試之、知其虛偽、

爾之行實、爾之堅苦忍耐、悉在吾洞鑒之中；亦知爾不肯優容惡人、凡冒充宗徒者、爾竟能嚴加審察、而揭其偽妄；

I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked people, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false.

‘ I know what you are doing. You work long and hard. I know you can’t put up with evil people. You have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not. You have found out that they are liars.

“‘ I know your works, your toil and your patient endurance, and how you cannot bear with those who are evil, but have tested those who call themselves apostles and are not, and found them to be false.

“ I know all the things you do. I have seen your hard work and your patient endurance. I know you don’t tolerate evil people. You have examined the claims of those who say they are apostles but are not. You have discovered they are liars.

I know your works, your labor, and your endurance, and that you cannot tolerate evil people. You have tested those who call themselves apostles and are not, and you have found them to be liars.

‘ I know your deeds and your labor and perseverance, and that you cannot tolerate evil people, and you have put those who call themselves apostles to the test, and they are not, and you found them to be false;

“ I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars;

I know thy works, and thy toil and patience, and that thou canst not bear evil men, and didst try them that call themselves apostles, and they are not, and didst find them false;

I know your works, your labor, and your endurance, and that you cannot tolerate evil. You have tested those who call themselves apostles and are not, and you have found them to be liars.

I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:

‘ I know your works as well as your labor and steadfast endurance, and that you cannot tolerate evil. You have even put to the test those who refer to themselves as apostles( but are not), and have discovered that they are false.

“ I know your works, and your toil and perseverance, and that you can’t tolerate evil men, and have tested those who call themselves apostles, and they are not, and found them false.

亲爱的弟兄姊妹，不要什么灵都信，总要试验那些灵是否出于上帝，因为世上已经出现了许多假先知！

以往曾经有假先知在百姓中出现，将来在你们中间也同样会有假教师出现。他们暗地里引进使人沉沦的异端邪说，甚至否认那位买赎他们的主。这些人正迅速地自招灭亡。许多人会效法他们邪恶无耻的行为，致使真理之道被人毁谤。他们贪婪成性，想用花言巧语在你们身上谋利。这种人的刑罚自古已经判定，他们很快就会灭亡。

凡事都要小心察验，持守良善的事，

‘我知道你的行为，你力量微小，却遵守了我的教导，没有背弃我的名。所以，看啊！我在你面前为你打开了一扇无人能关闭的门。

‘我知道你的行为，你不冷也不热。我情愿你或冷或热，

其实这些人是假使徒，为人诡诈，冒充基督的使徒。这不足为奇，因为连撒旦都装成光明的天使，它的爪牙若冒充公义的仆人，又何足为奇呢？他们最终必得到应得的报应。

这样，我们就不再像小孩子，被各种异端邪说之风吹得飘来飘去，被人的阴谋诡计欺骗，随波逐流。

我写信给你们不是因为你们不明白真理，而是因为你们明白真理，并且知道真理里面绝对没有谎言。谁是说谎的呢？不就是那否认耶稣是基督的吗？那不承认父和子的就是敌基督者。

因为耶和华看顾义人的脚步，恶人的道路必通向灭亡。

然而，上帝所立的坚实根基永不动摇，这根基上刻着：“主认识谁是属于祂的人”，“凡自称是属于主的人都要离弃罪恶。”

“你要写信告诉撒狄教会的天使，有上帝的七灵又有七颗星的主说，‘我知道你的行为，你名义上活着，实际上是死的。

其实那并不是福音，只是某些人扰乱你们的信仰，想篡改基督的福音。

因为上帝并非不公义，以致忘记你们为祂所做的工作以及你们过去和现在服侍圣徒所表现的爱心。

‘我知道你遭受的苦难和贫穷，其实你是富足的。我也知道那些人对你的毁谤，他们自称为犹太人，其实不是，而是撒旦的同伙。

‘我知道你住在撒旦称王的地方。当我忠心的见证人安提帕在你们这撒旦盘踞之处殉道的时候，你仍然坚守我的名，仍然信靠我。不过有几件事我要责备你，你那里有人随从巴兰的教导。这巴兰从前教巴勒在以色列人面前布下网罗，使他们吃祭过偶像的食物、犯淫乱的罪。同样，你们当中也有人附从尼哥拉党的教导。

‘我知道你的行为、爱心、信心、事奉、坚忍，也知道你末后所做的善事比起初更多。可是有一件事我要责备你，就是你容许那自称是先知的妇人耶洗别教导我的众奴仆，引诱他们淫乱、吃祭过偶像的食物。我曾给她悔改的机会，她却不肯悔改、离弃自己的淫乱行为，

我会清楚地告诉他们，‘我从来不认识你们，你们这些作恶的人走开！’

在我们的父上帝面前不断地想到你们因信我们主耶稣基督而做的工作、因爱祂而受的劳苦和因祂所赐的盼望而激发的忍耐。

然而你还有一点可取之处，就是你跟我一样痛恨尼哥拉党人的行径。
