迦巴勒的老者和聪明人都在你中间作补缝的；一切泛海的船只和水手都在你中间经营交易的事。“波斯人、路德人、弗人在你军营中作战士；他们在你中间悬挂盾牌和头盔，彰显你的尊荣。亚发人和你的军队都在你四围的墙上，你的望楼也有勇士；他们悬挂盾牌，成全你的美丽。“他施人因你多有各类的财物，就作你的客商，拿银、铁、锡、铅兑换你的货物。雅完人、土巴人、米设人都与你交易；他们用人口和铜器兑换你的货物。陀迦玛族用马和战马并骡子兑换你的货物。底但人与你交易，许多海岛作你的码头；他们拿象牙、乌木与你兑换。亚兰人因你的工作很多，就作你的客商；他们用绿宝石、紫色布绣货、细麻布、珊瑚、红宝石兑换你的货物。犹大和以色列地的人都与你交易；他们用米匿的麦子、饼、蜜、油、乳香兑换你的货物。大马士革人因你的工作很多，又因你多有各类的财物，就拿黑本酒和白羊毛与你交易。威但人和雅完人拿纺成的线、亮铁、桂皮、菖蒲兑换你的货物。底但人用高贵的毯子、鞍、屉与你交易。阿拉伯人和基达的一切首领都作你的客商，用羊羔、公绵羊、公山羊与你交易。示巴和拉玛的商人与你交易，他们用各类上好的香料、各类的宝石，和黄金兑换你的货物。哈兰人、干尼人、伊甸人、示巴的商人，和亚述人、基抹人与你交易。这些商人以美好的货物包在绣花蓝色包袱内，又有华丽的衣服装在香柏木的箱子里，用绳捆着与你交易。他施的船只接连成帮为你运货，你便在海中丰富极其荣华。

灯光在你中间决不能再照耀；新郎和新妇的声音，在你中间决不能再听见。你的客商原来是地上的尊贵人；万国也被你的邪术迷惑了。”

从前在百姓中有假先知起来，将来在你们中间也必有假师傅，私自引进陷害人的异端，连买他们的主他们也不承认，自取速速地灭亡。将有许多人随从他们邪淫的行为，便叫真道因他们的缘故被毁谤。他们因有贪心，要用捏造的言语在你们身上取利。他们的刑罚，自古以来并不迟延；他们的灭亡也必速速来到。

你所劳神的事都要这样与你无益；从幼年与你贸易的也都各奔各乡，无人救你。

地上的客商也都为她哭泣悲哀，因为没有人再买他们的货物了；这货物就是金、银、宝石、珍珠、细麻布、紫色料、绸子、朱红色料、各样香木、各样象牙的器皿、各样极宝贵的木头，和铜、铁、汉白玉的器皿，并肉桂、豆蔻、香料、香膏、乳香、酒、油、细面、麦子、牛、羊、车、马，和奴仆、人口。巴比伦哪，你所贪爱的果子离开了你；你一切的珍馐美味和华美的物件也从你中间毁灭，决不能再见了。贩卖这些货物、藉着她发了财的客商，因怕她的痛苦，就远远地站着哭泣悲哀，说：“哀哉！哀哉！这大城啊！素常穿着细麻、紫色、朱红色的衣服，又用金子、宝石，和珍珠为妆饰。一时之间，这么大的富厚就归于无有了。”凡船主和坐船往各处去的，并众水手，连所有靠海为业的，都远远地站着，

以色列人说：“巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒吞灭我，压碎我，使我成为空虚的器皿。他像大鱼将我吞下，用我的美物充满他的肚腹，又将我赶出去。”

你若与官长坐席，要留意在你面前的是谁。你若是贪食的，就当拿刀放在喉咙上。不可贪恋他的美食，因为是哄人的食物。

素来吃美好食物的，现今在街上变为孤寒；素来卧朱红褥子的，现今躺卧粪堆。

你们出去，到底是要看什么？要看穿细软衣服的人吗？那穿华丽衣服、宴乐度日的人是在王宫里。
