One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me,“ Come, I will show you the punishment of the great prostitute, who sits by many waters.

One of the seven angels who had poured out the seven bowls came over and spoke to me.“ Come with me,” he said,“ and I will show you the judgment that is going to come on the great prostitute, who rules over many waters.

Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and spoke with me:“ Come, I will show you the judgment of the notorious prostitute who is seated on many waters.

And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:

天主黜陟幽明、聰明、正直、已予熒惑全世之大娼以判決、而伸其忠僕流血之冤！」

上述七天神、攜有滿貯七災之七爵者、其中一神來語予曰：「偕予行、予欲示爾以新婦、即羔羊之良配也。」

大邑分裂為三、萬邦諸邑頹然傾圮。於是大巴比倫乃受天主之報應、而飲其霹靂之酒矣！

天上復見一兆、大且奇：有七天神掌末世之七災、以完成天主之譴怒。

爾時七持爵天神之一、來與予語曰：「來、吾欲示以大娼之處決；大娼者、即坐於諸川之上、與世間百王行淫、而使舉世之人沈湎於其淫亂之酒者也。」天神乃攝吾之神魂、入一曠野、見有一婦坐赤獸上；赤獸七首十角、渾身皆僭妄穢褻之名。婦人披紫着朱、飾金珠寶石、手執金樽、樽中滿貯淫亂眾穢、及無恥之事；額上題名曰：吾又見婦人已因暢飲眾聖及諸為耶穌致命者之血、而酩酊矣。吾對之不勝驚訝駭異之至。天神語予曰：胡驚異為？吾欲告爾以此婦及其所乘七首十角之獸之秘密。爾適所見之獸、一現即逝、又將起自深淵、終必淪胥以亡。舉世之人、凡其名自創世以來、未見錄於生命冊者、以其獸之一現即逝、而復勃興。咸將見而歎服。此中有妙義焉：七首者、即此婦所坐鎮之七山、亦即七王；就中五者已隕一尚存、一將至；及其至也、當有片時停留；而一現即逝之獸、其本身即為第八、出於第七、而歸於消滅。爾所見之十角亦十王也、至今未秉國鈞、後當與獸同享王權、亦只片晷。十王惟具一心、欲將己之權柄統歸於獸、俾合力與羔羊交戰、而羔羊終必克之。羔羊乃萬主之主、萬王之王。凡蒙召承選、忠心耿耿、而與羔羊並肩作戰者、靡有不勝。天神又語予曰：「爾所見大娼坐鎮之諸川、乃列國、兆民、萬族、重譯也。爾所見之十角及獸、終必痛恨大娼、褫其衣而裸之、且吞食其肉、而付諸一焚。凡此皆天主為促成聖謨、而使若輩一致讓國與獸、以待天主之言之圓滿見驗耳。

「哀哉大邑、昔以純紵紫絳為衣、金玉珠璣為飾；頃刻之間、而絕世繁華頓成荒涼！」舟長舟子、凡以航海為業、依水營生者、亦相與遙立、共對大火而驚呼曰：「天下萬城、誰堪比之。」乃以塵蒙首、號咷而大哭曰：「哀哉大邑、曩日舟人皆潤其豐饒而致富有；頃刻之間、乃遭斯極耶！」

掌握七災之七天神自殿中出、身披純紵、皎潔如雪、胸束金帶。時四靈物之一、授七天神以七大金爵、滿貯永生天主之義憤。

與予語者、手執金葦、以度其邑、其門、其垣。

二人乃相語曰：『途中與我共話、闡釋經言之時、吾儕不曾覺中心如沸乎？』

此事甫畢、予舉目仰觀、忽見天門洞開，曩者所聞彷彿吹角之音者、至是復語予曰：「升此、將示爾以未來之事。」
