那大城裂為三個部分，列國的城市也都倒塌了。神也想起大巴比倫，要把自己烈怒之酒的杯子遞給她。

接著，我看見天上有另一個大而奇妙的徵兆：有七位天使帶著最後的七樣災害，因為神的憤怒就在這些災害中完結了。

拿著七碗的七位天使中，有一位過來對我講話，說：「來，我要給你看那坐在眾水之上的大淫婦所要受的審判。地上的眾君王曾與她行淫亂，住在地上的人也喝醉了她淫亂的酒。」於是我在靈裡被天使帶到曠野。隨後，我看見一個女人騎在一隻深紅色的獸上，這獸有七個頭，十隻角，遍體布滿了褻瀆的名號。那女人身穿紫色和深紅色的衣服，以金子、寶石和珍珠為裝飾。她手裡拿著金杯，杯中盛滿了可憎之物和她淫亂的汙穢。在她的額上寫著一個奧祕的名號：「大巴比倫，地上的淫婦們和可憎之物的母親。」隨後，我看見那女人喝醉了聖徒們的血，以及為耶穌做見證之人的血。我看到她就大大驚奇。那位天使對我說：「你為什麼驚奇呢？我要把這女人和馱著她的那七頭十角獸的奧祕告訴你。你所看見的那獸，先前在而現今不在，並將要從無底坑裡上來，然後走向滅亡。住在地上的人，凡是名字從創世以來沒有被記在生命冊上的，看見那先前在而現今不在，並將要出現的獸時，都會感到驚奇。「帶有智慧的理性就在這裡。那七個頭就是女人所坐的七座山，也就是七個君王。五個已經倒了，一個還在，另一個還沒有到來；他來的時候，必須存留片刻。那先前在而現今不在的獸，自己就是第八個，也是屬於那七個，並且要走向滅亡。你所看見的那十隻角，是十個王，他們還沒有得到王權，然而他們要得到權柄，與那獸一同做王一段時間。他們目的一致，把自己的能力和權柄交給那獸。他們將要與羔羊交戰，而羔羊將勝過他們，因為他是萬主之主，萬王之王；與羔羊在一起的，是那些蒙召喚的、蒙揀選的、忠心的人。」天使又對我說：「你所看見的眾水，那淫婦所坐的地方，就是許多民族、人群、國家和語言群體。你所看見的那十隻角和那獸，他們將恨惡那淫婦，並且將使她成為荒蕪、赤身露體，又要吃她的肉，而且用火燒掉她。因為神把意念放在他們心中，要他們實現他的目的，要他們行事目的一致，並把十隻角的王權交給那獸，直到神的話語成就。

忠信的城竟然變為妓女！這城從前充滿公正，有公義居於其中，現在卻只有殺人凶手。

說：「有禍了！有禍了！宏大的城，那曾身穿細麻、紫色、深紅色衣服，以金子、寶石、珍珠為裝飾的城啊！這麼多的財富，竟然在一時之間就化為烏有了！」所有的船長、所有到處航行的人、水手們、所有靠海為業的人，都遠遠地站著。他們看著焚燒她時的煙，呼喊說：「哪一個城能與這大城相比呢？」他們把塵土撒在自己頭上，哭泣、悲傷，呼喊說：「有禍了！有禍了！宏大的城，所有靠著她在海上有船隻的人都因她的財富發了財。她竟然在一時之間就化為烏有了！

那帶著七樣災害的七位天使，從聖所中出來了；他們身穿潔白明亮的細麻衣，胸間束著金帶。四個活物中有一個把七個金碗交給了那七位天使，碗裡盛滿了活到永永遠遠之神的憤怒。

「至於你們這些巫婆的子孫，姦夫和妓女的種子，近前來到這裡吧！

那位對我說話的天使，拿著一根金蘆葦的量尺，要測量那城，就是她的城門和城牆。

他們彼此說：「在路上他對我們說話，為我們講解經文的時候，我們心裡不是在燃燒嗎？」

這些事以後，我觀看，看哪，天上有一個敞開的門。我先前所聽見的，那如同號角對我說話的聲音就說：「你上到這裡來！我要把此後必須發生的事指示給你。」

這時候，忽然有兩個人和耶穌談話——他們是摩西和以利亞——
