第一位天使吹響號角的時候，冰雹和火攙雜著血從天上傾盆而下。地的三分之一、樹木的三分之一和一切的青草都被燒毀了。

牠又獲准給怪獸的塑像生命氣息，使牠不但能說話，還能使所有不敬拜那像的人遭害。牠又強迫所有的人，不論老少、尊卑、貧富、自由人或奴隸，都在右手或額上接受印記。凡沒有蓋上怪獸印記的，就是沒有怪獸的名字或代號的，都不能做買賣。這裡藏有玄機，聰明的人可以計算那怪獸的代號，因為那是一個人的代號，是「六百六十六」。

他們因為痛苦和毒瘡就褻瀆天上的上帝，不肯為自己的所作所為悔改。

耶和華對摩西和亞倫說：「你們去取幾把窯裡的灰，摩西要在法老面前把灰拋向空中。這灰要變成塵土，散佈在埃及每一個角落，落在人或牲畜身上，就會起皰長瘡。」摩西和亞倫便取了一些窯裡的灰，站在法老面前，摩西把灰拋向空中，埃及人和牲畜身上就開始起皰長瘡。埃及的巫師無法與摩西對抗，因為他們及所有埃及人身上都長了膿瘡。

耶和華要使你們免患疾病，免遭你們在埃及所見的惡疾，祂要把那些惡疾降在一切憎惡你們的人身上。

你們為什麼一再叛逆？你們還要受責打嗎？你們已經頭破血流，身心疲憊。你們已經體無完膚，從頭到腳傷痕纍纍，傷口沒有清洗，沒有包紮，也沒有敷藥。

所以，我要使她們頭上長瘡，露出頭皮。」

耶和華重重地懲罰亞實突及附近村莊的居民，使他們都患上毒瘡。

希律沒有把榮耀歸給上帝，主的天使立刻懲罰他，他當場被蟲子咬死了。

「祂要使你們患埃及的膿瘡、腫瘤和癬疥，無藥可治。

又有一個名叫拉撒路的乞丐身上長滿了膿瘡，被人放在財主家門口。他渴望吃到財主桌上掉下來的食物殘渣，卻只有狗來舔他的瘡。「後來，乞丐死了，天使帶他到亞伯拉罕身邊。財主也死了，被人埋葬了。

約櫃抵達迦特的時候，耶和華攻擊那城，使那裡的男女老少都患了毒瘡，全城驚恐不已。

這事以後，耶和華使約蘭患了無法醫治的腸病，

你必患嚴重的腸病，並且日益加重，直到你的腸子掉出來。』」

於是，撒旦從耶和華面前退去，開始加害約伯，使他從頭到腳長毒瘡。約伯坐在爐灰中，拿瓦片刮身體。

她們的香氣將變成臭味，腰帶將變成繩子，美髮將變成禿頭，華服將變成麻衣，美麗的容顏將佈滿羞辱的烙印。

祂使空中颳起東風，用大能引來南風，

於是，坐在雲上的那位便向大地揮動鐮刀，把地上的莊稼都收割了。
