This great choir sang a wonderful new song in front of the throne of God and before the four living beings and the twenty four elders. No one could learn this song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth.

Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song. Sing his praises in the assembly of the faithful.

Sing a new song to the Lord! Sing his praises from the ends of the earth! Sing, all you who sail the seas, all you who live in distant coastlands.

And instantly I was in the Spirit, and I saw a throne in heaven and someone sitting on it.The one sitting on the throne was as brilliant as gemstones— like jasper and carnelian. And the glow of an emerald circled his throne like a rainbow.Twenty four thrones surrounded him, and twenty four elders sat on them. They were all clothed in white and had gold crowns on their heads.From the throne came flashes of lightning and the rumble of thunder. And in front of the throne were seven torches with burning flames. This is the sevenfold Spirit of God.In front of the throne was a shiny sea of glass, sparkling like crystal. In the center and around the throne were four living beings, each covered with eyes, front and back.The first of these living beings was like a lion; the second was like an ox; the third had a human face; and the fourth was like an eagle in flight.Each of these living beings had six wings, and their wings were covered all over with eyes, inside and out. Day after day and night after night they keep on saying,“ Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty— the one who always was, who is, and who is still to come.”Whenever the living beings give glory and honor and thanks to the one sitting on the throne( the one who lives forever and ever),the twenty four elders fall down and worship the one sitting on the throne( the one who lives forever and ever). And they lay their crowns before the throne and say,“ You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power. For you created all things, and they exist because you created what you pleased.”

Sing a new song to the Lord, for he has done wonderful deeds. His right hand has won a mighty victory; his holy arm has shown his saving power!

Sing a new song to the Lord! Let the whole earth sing to the Lord!

I will sing a new song to you, O God! I will sing your praises with a ten stringed harp.

“ Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches. To everyone who is victorious I will give some of the manna that has been hidden away in heaven. And I will give to each one a white stone, and on the stone will be engraved a new name that no one understands except the one who receives it.

Sing a new song of praise to him; play skillfully on the harp, and sing with joy.

He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord.

And they were singing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb:“ Great and marvelous are your works, O Lord God, the Almighty. Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations.

At that time Jesus prayed this prayer:“ O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike.Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way!“ My Father has entrusted everything to me. No one truly knows the Son except the Father, and no one truly knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”

The Lord is a friend to those who fear him. He teaches them his covenant.

The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God.

But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means.
