你曾看見的獸，以前有，現在沒有，將來要從無底坑裏上來，又歸於沉淪。凡住在地上、名字從創世以來沒有記在生命冊上的人看見那隻獸都要詫異，因為牠以前有，現在沒有，以後再有。

牠得了權柄在第一隻獸面前能行奇事，迷惑住在地上的人，告訴他們要為那受過刀傷還活着的獸造個像。

他們同心把自己的能力權柄交給那隻獸。

因為神使諸王同心執行他的旨意，把他們自己的國交給那隻獸，直等到神的話都應驗了。

我又看見一隻獸從海裏上來，有十個角七個頭；在十個角上戴着十個冠冕，七個頭上有褻瀆的名號。我所看見的獸，形狀像豹，腳像熊的腳，口像獅子的口。那條龍將自己的能力、座位和大權柄都給了牠。

牠在第一隻獸面前施行第一隻獸所有的權柄，並且使地和住在地上的人拜那致命傷被醫好了的第一隻獸。

所有的人，從小到大都聽從他，說：「這個人就是神的能力，那稱為大能者的。」他們聽從他，因他很久以來用邪術使他們驚奇。

我要使巴比倫王的膀臂有力，把我的刀交在他手中；卻要折斷法老的膀臂，使他在巴比倫王面前呻吟，如同被殺的人一樣。

五個已經倒了，一個還在，一個還沒有來到；他來的時候必須只暫時停留。

這不法的人來，是靠撒但的運作，行各樣的異能、神蹟和一切虛假的奇事，並且在那沉淪的人身上行各樣不義的詭詐，因為他們不領受愛真理的心，好讓他們得救。故此，神就給他們一個引發錯誤的心，叫他們信從虛謊，使一切不信真理、倒喜愛不義的人都被定罪。

西門自己也信了；既受了洗，就常與腓利在一處，看見他所行的神蹟和大異能，就覺得很驚奇。

我又看見那女人喝醉了聖徒的血和為耶穌作見證的人的血。我看見她，非常詫異。

法利賽人彼此說：「你們看，你們一事無成，世人都隨着他去了。」
