天上又出現了另一個兆頭：有一條大紅龍，有七個頭十個角；七個頭上戴着七個冠冕。

我在聖靈感動下，被天使帶到曠野去，我看見一個女人騎在朱紅色的獸上；那隻獸有七個頭十個角，遍體有褻瀆的名號。

他們作完見證的時候，那從無底坑裏上來的獸要跟他們交戰，並且得勝，把他們殺了。

那侍立者這樣說：第四獸就是世上要興起的第四國，與其他各國不同，它要併吞全地，並且踐踏嚼碎。至於那十隻角，就是從這國中興起的十個王；後來又興起另一王，與先前的不相同，他要制伏三個王。他說話抵擋至高者，折磨至高者的眾聖者，又改變節期和律法。眾聖者要交在他手中一年、兩年、又半年。

「王必任意而行，自高自大，超過所有的神明，又用荒謬的話攻擊萬神之神。他必行事亨通，直到主的憤怒結束，因為所定的事必然實現。

但以理說：我在夜間的異象中觀看，看哪，天上有四風，突然颳在大海之上。有四隻巨獸從海裏上來，牠們各不相同：

其後，我在夜間的異象中觀看，看哪，第四獸可怕可懼，極其強壯，有大鐵牙，吞吃嚼碎，剩下的用腳踐踏。這獸與前面所有的獸不同，牠有十隻角。我正思考這些角的時候，看哪，其中又長出另一隻小角；先前的角中有三隻角在它面前連根被拔出。看哪，這角有眼，像人的眼，有口說誇大的話。

你所看見的那十個角與獸必恨這淫婦，他們要使她孤獨赤身，又要吃她的肉，用火將她燒盡。

於是我想要更清楚知道第四獸的實情，牠與一切的獸不同，甚是可怕，有鐵牙銅爪，吞吃嚼碎，剩下的用腳踐踏；頭上有十隻角和那另長出的一角，三隻角在這角面前掉落；這角有眼，有口說誇大的話，形狀比牠的同類更強。

天使對我說：「你為甚麼詫異呢？我要把這女人和馱着她那七頭十角的獸的奧祕告訴你。你曾看見的獸，以前有，現在沒有，將來要從無底坑裏上來，又歸於沉淪。凡住在地上、名字從創世以來沒有記在生命冊上的人看見那隻獸都要詫異，因為牠以前有，現在沒有，以後再有。在此要有智慧的心思：那七個頭就是女人所坐的七座山；他們又是七個王，五個已經倒了，一個還在，一個還沒有來到；他來的時候必須只暫時停留。那以前有、現在沒有的獸就是第八個，他也和那七個同列，正歸於沉淪。你曾看見的那十個角就是十個王；他們還沒有得到國度，但他們要和那隻獸同得權柄作王一個時辰。

我看見彷彿有攙雜火的玻璃海；又看見那些勝了那獸和獸像，以及牠名字的數字的人，都站在玻璃海上，拿着神的豎琴。

你們難道不懼怕我嗎？在我面前還不戰兢嗎？這是耶和華說的。我以沙為海的界限，作永遠的條例，使它不得越過。波浪洶湧，卻不能勝過；怒濤澎湃，仍無法越過。

龍又賜給那隻獸說誇大褻瀆話的口，又賜給牠權柄可以任意行事四十二個月。那獸就開口向神說褻瀆的話，褻瀆神的名和他的帳幕，就是那些住在天上的。

不要讓任何人用甚麼法子欺騙你們，因為那日子以前必有叛教的事，並有那不法的人，那沉淪之子出現。那抵擋者高抬自己超過一切稱為神明的，和一切受人敬拜的，甚至坐在神的殿裏，自稱為神。

在她額上寫着奧祕的名字，說：「大巴比倫，世上的淫婦和一切可憎之物的母。」
