And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight.

And as they still went on and talked, behold, chariots of fire and horses of fire separated the two of them. And Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.

Now when the Lord was about to take Elijah up to heaven by a whirlwind, Elijah and Elisha were on their way from Gilgal.

even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ— by grace you have been saved—and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side.

Who are these that fly like a cloud, and like doves to their windows?

She gave birth to a male child, one who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron, but her child was caught up to God and to his throne,

The sons of the prophets who were at Jericho drew near to Elisha and said to him,“ Do you know that today the Lord will take away your master from over you?” And he answered,“ Yes, I know it; keep quiet.”

Then once more you shall see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve him.

The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne.

Show me a sign of your favor, that those who hate me may see and be put to shame because you, Lord, have helped me and comforted me.

Fifty men of the sons of the prophets also went and stood at some distance from them, as they both were standing by the Jordan.

The wicked man sees it and is angry; he gnashes his teeth and melts away; the desire of the wicked will perish!

clogging their chariot wheels so that they drove heavily. And the Egyptians said,“ Let us flee from before Israel, for the Lord fights for them against the Egyptians.”

Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died— more than that, who was raised— who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?As it is written,“ For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord? And who shall stand in his holy place?
