I was given a reed like a measuring rod and was told,“ Go and measure the temple of God and the altar, with its worshipers.

I was given a long stick that looked like a measuring rod. I was told,“ Go and measure the temple of God. And measure the altar where the people are worshiping.

Then I was given a measuring rod like a staff, and I was told,“ Rise and measure the temple of God and the altar and those who worship there,

與予語者、手執金葦、以度其邑、其門、其垣。

爾等亦當勉成具有生命之小石、俾充建造聖殿之材料、而作神聖之司鐸；仰賴耶穌基督、奉獻精神上之祭祀以望天主之悅納、

此聖宅、以宗徒先知為基、而有耶穌基督親充隅石；石上廣廈、經營正殷、結構日精、而規模日宏、駸駸乎將因主而成為聖殿矣。爾等亦為此廣廈之一部、聖神所建於同一隅石之上、以供天主之居停者也。

爾豈不知爾乃天主之宮殿、天主聖神之所寓乎？人而毀傷天主之宮殿、則天主必棄絕之；應知天主之宮殿至為聖潔、而爾實天主之宮殿也。

天主之殿與人造之像、不能相親。蓋吾人固永生天主之聖殿也。天主不云乎：『吾欲寓於其中、吾欲為彼等之天主、而彼等則吾之子民也。』

而爾等則為蒙選之族、赫赫司祭、雍雍神國實天主之眷屬也。天主既召爾等出於黑暗入於靈光、爾等可不表彰大德乎。

吾則異於是、吾所誇者、惟在吾主耶穌基督之十字聖架而已。因此、世之與我已互釘於十字聖架之上、而恝然相遺矣。總之、割禮無足貴、不割亦無足貴；惟恃再造之功、變化氣質、為足貴耳。凡遵此則而行者、願平安及慈恩加之、並加於天主之真義塞也。

又見一大力天神自天而降、身披雲彩、頭戴長虹、容如太陽、足如火柱、手執已展之小卷、右足踏海、左足踐陸；大聲而呼、有如獅吼。呼時、七雷並作；吾正欲將七雷之音筆之於書、忽聞有音自天曰：「七雷所宣、緘之勿書。」後見彼足跨海陸之天神向天舉其右手、
