for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care. Today, if only you would hear his voice,

He is our God. We are the sheep belonging to his flock. We are the people he takes good care of. If only you would listen to his voice today.

So, as the Holy Spirit says:“ Today, if you hear his voice,do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the wilderness,where your ancestors tested and tried me, though for forty years they saw what I did.That is why I was angry with that generation; I said,‘ Their hearts are always going astray, and they have not known my ways.’So I declared on oath in my anger,‘ They shall never enter my rest.’” (niv)

God again set a certain day, calling it“ Today.” This he did when a long time later he spoke through David, as in the passage already quoted:“ Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.” (niv)

As has just been said:“ Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion.” (niv)

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. (niv)

For“ you were like sheep going astray,” but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls. (niv)

For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end. (niv)

O God, why have you rejected us forever? Why does your anger smolder against the sheep of your pasture? (niv)

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. (niv)

While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said,“ This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!” (niv)

Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood. (niv)

Listen, for I have trustworthy things to say; I open my lips to speak what is right. (niv)

The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. (niv)

“ I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. (niv)

Then we your people, the sheep of your pasture, will praise you forever; from generation to generation we will proclaim your praise.Hear us, Shepherd of Israel, you who lead Joseph like a flock. You who sit enthroned between the cherubim, shine forth (niv)

See, the Sovereign Lord comes with power, and he rules with a mighty arm. See, his reward is with him, and his recompense accompanies him.He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young. (niv)

The land yields its harvest; God, our God, blesses us. (niv)

and saying,“ Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah:“ A voice of one calling in the wilderness,‘ Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.’” (niv)

“ I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me—just as the Father knows me and I know the Father— and I lay down my life for the sheep.I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd. (niv)

Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. (niv)

Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him. (niv)

“ This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that time,” declares the Lord.“ I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. (niv)

“ The Lord is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him. (niv)

Then they will know that I, the Lord their God, am with them and that they, the Israelites, are my people, declares the Sovereign Lord.You are my sheep, the sheep of my pasture, and I am your God, declares the Sovereign Lord.’” (niv)

But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called“ Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. (niv)

Instead, they were longing for a better country— a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them. (niv)
