你安置月亮以定季节，太阳自知沉落。

我把彩虹放在云中，这就是我与地立约的记号了。我使云遮地的时候，会有彩虹出现在云中，我就记念我与你们，以及各样有血肉的生物所立的约：不再有洪水泛滥去毁灭一切有血肉的了。彩虹出现在云中，我看见了，就要记念上帝与地上一切有血肉的生物所立的永约。”

在他的日子，公义要兴旺，大有平安，除非月亮不在。

耶和华使太阳白昼发光，按定例使月亮和星辰照耀黑夜，又搅动大海，使海中波浪澎湃，万军之耶和华是他的名，他如此说：“这些定例若能在我面前废掉，以色列的后裔才会在我面前断绝，永远不再成国。这是耶和华说的。”

这事于我有如挪亚的洪水；我怎样起誓不再使挪亚的洪水淹没全地，也照样起誓不再向你发怒，且不斥责你。大山可以挪开，小山可以迁移，但我的慈爱必不离开你，我平安的约也不迁移；这是怜悯你的耶和华说的。

上帝说：“天上要有光体来分昼夜，让它们作记号，定季节、日子、年份，它们要在天空发光，照在地上。”事就这样成了。于是上帝造了两个大光体，大的管昼，小的管夜，又造了星辰。上帝把这些光体摆列在天空，照在地上，管理昼夜，分别光暗。上帝看为好的。
