I will establish his line forever, his throne as long as the heavens endure.

So they despise my people and no longer regard them as a nation.This is what the Lord says:‘ If I have not made my covenant with day and night and established the laws of heaven and earth,then I will reject the descendants of Jacob and David my servant and will not choose one of his sons to rule over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. For I will restore their fortunes and have compassion on them.’” (niv)

He asked you for life, and you gave it to him— length of days, for ever and ever. (niv)

“‘ My servant David will be king over them, and they will all have one shepherd. They will follow my laws and be careful to keep my decrees.They will live in the land I gave to my servant Jacob, the land where your ancestors lived. They and their children and their children’s children will live there forever, and David my servant will be their prince forever. (niv)

The Lord swore an oath to David, a sure oath he will not revoke:“ One of your own descendants I will place on your throne. (niv)

When your days are over and you go to be with your ancestors, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you, one of your own sons, and I will establish his kingdom.He is the one who will build a house for me, and I will establish his throne forever. (niv)

Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom. (niv)
