上帝歟、驕傲之輩、起而攻我、強暴之黨、索我之命、目中無爾兮、

上帝兮、驕矜之輩、起而叛余、強悍之黨、謀害我命、彼不敬畏爾兮。

天主歟、驕傲之人、群起攻擊我、強橫之黨類、欲索我命、彼皆目中無天主、

驕人悻悻。逞其狂傲。群逆結黨。恣其凶暴。目中無主。哀哉不肖。

Arrogant foes are attacking me, O God; ruthless people are trying to kill me— they have no regard for you.

God, proud people are attacking me. A gang of mean people is trying to kill me. They don’t care about you.

O God, insolent men have risen up against me; a band of ruthless men seeks my life, and they do not set you before them.

O God, insolent people rise up against me; a violent gang is trying to kill me. You mean nothing to them.

God, arrogant people have attacked me; a gang of ruthless men intends to kill me. They do not let you guide them.

God, arrogant men have risen up against me, And a gang of violent men have sought my life, And they have not set You before them.

O God, the proud are risen up against me, And a company of violent men have sought after my soul, And have not set thee before them.

God, arrogant people have attacked me; a gang of ruthless men seeks my life. They have no regard for You.

O God, the proud are risen against me, and the assemblies of violent[ men] have sought after my soul; and have not set thee before them.

O God, arrogant men attack me; a gang of ruthless men, who do not respect you, seek my life.

God, the proud have risen up against me. A company of violent men have sought after my soul, and they don’t hold regard for you before them.

For strangers have risen up against me, And oppressors have sought after my life; They have not set God before them. Selah

The proud have dug pits for me, Which is not according to Your law.

Let not the foot of pride come against me, And let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.

He has said in his heart,“ God has forgotten; He hides His face; He will never see.”

Then Absalom said to Ahithophel,“ Give advice as to what we should do.”And Ahithophel said to Absalom,“ Go in to your father’s concubines, whom he has left to keep the house; and all Israel will hear that you are abhorred by your father. Then the hands of all who are with you will be strong.”So they pitched a tent for Absalom on the top of the house, and Absalom went in to his father’s concubines in the sight of all Israel.Now the advice of Ahithophel, which he gave in those days, was as if one had inquired at the oracle of God. So was all the advice of Ahithophel both with David and with Absalom.Moreover Ahithophel said to Absalom,“ Now let me choose twelve thousand men, and I will arise and pursue David tonight.

Why do the wicked renounce God? He has said in his heart,“ You will not require an account.”

An oracle within my heart concerning the transgression of the wicked: There is no fear of God before his eyes.

So Absalom and all the men of Israel said,“ The advice of Hushai the Archite is better than the advice of Ahithophel.” For the Lord had purposed to defeat the good advice of Ahithophel, to the intent that the Lord might bring disaster on Absalom.

Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, Who eat up my people as they eat bread, And do not call on the Lord?

The proud have me in great derision, Yet I do not turn aside from Your law.

Then He said to me,“ Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the room of his idols? For they say,‘ The Lord does not see us, the Lord has forsaken the land.’”

Then the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders of the people assembled at the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,and plotted to take Jesus by trickery and kill Him.

After this it happened that Absalom provided himself with chariots and horses, and fifty men to run before him.Now Absalom would rise early and stand beside the way to the gate. So it was, whenever anyone who had a lawsuit came to the king for a decision, that Absalom would call to him and say,“ What city are you from?” And he would say,“ Your servant is from such and such a tribe of Israel.”Then Absalom would say to him,“ Look, your case is good and right; but there is no deputy of the king to hear you.”Moreover Absalom would say,“ Oh, that I were made judge in the land, and everyone who has any suit or cause would come to me; then I would give him justice.”And so it was, whenever anyone came near to bow down to him, that he would put out his hand and take him and kiss him.In this manner Absalom acted toward all Israel who came to the king for judgment. So Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel.Now it came to pass after forty years that Absalom said to the king,“ Please, let me go to Hebron and pay the vow which I made to the Lord.For your servant took a vow while I dwelt at Geshur in Syria, saying,‘ If the Lord indeed brings me back to Jerusalem, then I will serve the Lord.’”And the king said to him,“ Go in peace.” So he arose and went to Hebron.Then Absalom sent spies throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying,“ As soon as you hear the sound of the trumpet, then you shall say,‘ Absalom reigns in Hebron!’”And with Absalom went two hundred men invited from Jerusalem, and they went along innocently and did not know anything.Then Absalom sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David’s counselor, from his city— from Giloh— while he offered sacrifices. And the conspiracy grew strong, for the people with Absalom continually increased in number.

When morning came, all the chief priests and elders of the people plotted against Jesus to put Him to death.And when they had bound Him, they led Him away and delivered Him to Pontius Pilate the governor.

“ For truly against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered togetherto do whatever Your hand and Your purpose determined before to be done.

The wicked in his proud countenance does not seek God; God is in none of his thoughts.

The proud have hidden a snare for me, and cords; They have spread a net by the wayside; They have set traps for me. Selah

Then He said to me,“ The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great, and the land is full of bloodshed, and the city full of perversity; for they say,‘ The Lord has forsaken the land, and the Lord does not see!’

The proud have forged a lie against me, But I will keep Your precepts with my whole heart.
