Lord, our neighbors have laughed at you. Pay them back seven times for what they have done.

Pay back sevenfold to our neighbors the reproach they have hurled at You, Lord.

Pay back our neighbors in full! May they be insulted the same way they insulted you, O Lord!

Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of hosts,[ is] his name,

And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.

Then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins.

Remember this,[ that] the enemy hath reproached, O LORD, and[ that] the foolish people have blasphemed thy name.O deliver not the soul of thy turtledove unto the multitude[ of the wicked]: forget not the congregation of thy poor for ever.Have respect unto the covenant: for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty.O let not the oppressed return ashamed: let the poor and needy praise thy name.Arise, O God, plead thine own cause: remember how the foolish man reproacheth thee daily.

Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These[ are] a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day.Behold,[ it is] written before me: I will not keep silence, but will recompense, even recompense into their bosom,Your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, saith the LORD, which have burned incense upon the mountains, and blasphemed me upon the hills: therefore will I measure their former work into their bosom.

O God, how long shall the adversary reproach? shall the enemy blaspheme thy name for ever?

For the voice of him that reproacheth and blasphemeth; by reason of the enemy and avenger.
