Then they would put their trust in God. They would not forget what he had done. They would obey his commands.

God’s people need to be very patient. They are the ones who obey God’s commands. And they remain faithful to Jesus.

In fact, here is what it means to love God. We love him by obeying his commands. And his commands are not hard to obey.

But I wish they would always have respect for me in their hearts. I wish they would always obey all my commands. Then things would go well with them and their children forever.

Don’t be careless. Instead, be very careful. Don’t forget the things your eyes have seen. As long as you live, don’t let them slip from your mind. Teach them to your children and their children after them.

I will praise the Lord. I won’t forget anything he does for me.

And he will give us anything we ask. That’s because we obey his commands. We do what pleases him.God has commanded us to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ. Make sure you don’t forget the Lord your God. Don’t fail to obey his commands, laws and rules. I’m giving them to you today.

The Lord says,“ I will save the one who loves me. I will keep him safe, because he trusts in me.

When he had given thanks, he broke it. He said,“ This is my body. It is given for you. Every time you eat it, do it in memory of me.”

Because of what Christ has done, you believe in God. It was God who raised him from the dead. And it was God who gave him glory. So your faith and hope are in God.

So they established it as a regular practice. They decided they would always observe these two days of the year. They would celebrate in the required way. And they would celebrate at the appointed time. They and their children after them would always observe these days. And so would all who join them.The days should be remembered and celebrated. They should be remembered by every family for all time to come. They should be celebrated in every territory and in every city. The Jews should never stop celebrating the days of Purim. Their children after them should always remember these days.

Blessed are those who depend on the God of Jacob for help. Blessed are those who put their hope in the Lord their God.

Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way. He guided you in the desert for these 40 years. He wanted to take your pride away. He wanted to test you to know what was in your hearts. He wanted to see whether you would obey his commands.

But be careful that you don’t forget the Lord. Remember that he brought you out of Egypt. That’s the land where you were slaves.

But don’t be afraid of them. Be sure to remember what the Lord your God did to Pharaoh and all the Egyptians.With your own eyes you saw what the Lord did to them. You saw the signs and amazing things he did. He reached out his mighty hand and powerful arm. The Lord your God used all those things to bring you out. You are now afraid of the nations that are in the land the Lord promised you. But the Lord your God will do to them the same things he did to Egypt.

Remember the wonderful things he has done. Remember his miracles and how he judged our enemies.

“ But I will bless anyone who trusts in me. I will do good things for the person who depends on me.They will be like a tree planted near water. It sends out its roots beside a stream. It is not afraid when heat comes. Its leaves are always green. It does not worry when there is no rain. It always bears fruit.”

Yes, I must find my rest in God. He is the God who gives me hope.

“ Obey all these directions. It’s a law for you and your children after you for all time to come.The Lord will give you the land, just as he promised. When you enter it, keep this holy day.Your children will ask you,‘ What does this holy day mean to you?’Tell them,‘ It’s the Passover sacrifice to honor the Lord. He passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt. He spared our homes when he struck down the Egyptians.’ ” Then the Israelites bowed down and worshiped.

Then I thought,“ Here is what gives me hope. For many years the Most High God showed how powerful he is.Lord, I will remember what you did. Yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.I will spend time thinking about everything you have done. I will consider all your mighty acts.”

Blessed is the person who trusts in the Lord. They don’t trust in proud people. Those proud people worship statues of gods.
