I remembered my songs in the night. My heart meditated and my spirit asked:

I remembered how I used to sing praise to you in the night. I thought about it, and here is what I asked myself.

I said,“ Let me remember my song in the night; let me meditate in my heart.” Then my spirit made a diligent search:

At night I remember my music; I meditate in my heart, and my spirit ponders.

I will remember my song in the night; I will meditate with my heart, And my spirit ponders:

I call to remembrance my song in the night; I meditate within my heart, And my spirit makes diligent search.

I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with mine own heart; And my spirit maketh diligent search.

At night I remember my music; I meditate in my heart, and my spirit ponders.

I said,“ During the night I will remember the song I once sang; I will think very carefully.” I tried to make sense of what was happening.

I remember my song in the night. I consider in my own heart; my spirit diligently inquires:

Don’t sin by letting anger control you. Think about it overnight and remain silent. Interlude

But each day the Lord pours his unfailing love upon me, and through each night I sing his songs, praying to God who gives me life.

Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening.

Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.

Instead, let us test and examine our ways. Let us turn back to the Lord.

I will say to God,‘ Don’t simply condemn me— tell me the charge you are bringing against me.

Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty,yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!

I said to myself,“ Look, I am wiser than any of the kings who ruled in Jerusalem before me. I have greater wisdom and knowledge than any of them.”

That is why you should examine yourself before eating the bread and drinking the cup.For if you eat the bread or drink the cup without honoring the body of Christ, you are eating and drinking God’s judgment upon yourself.That is why many of you are weak and sick and some have even died.But if we would examine ourselves, we would not be judged by God in this way.Yet when we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned along with the world.
