主我之天主歟、我若行此、我手中若有不義之事、

彼人兇如獅。吞我心方快。除主復何恃。不救吾其殆。

Lord my God, if I have done this and there is guilt on my hands—

Lord my God, suppose I have done something wrong. Suppose I am guilty.

O Lord my God, if I have done this, if there is wrong in my hands,

O Lord my God, if I have done wrong or am guilty of injustice,

See, my father, look at this piece of your robe in my hand! I cut off the corner of your robe but did not kill you. See that there is nothing in my hand to indicate that I am guilty of wrongdoing or rebellion. I have not wronged you, but you are hunting me down to take my life. (niv)

As he cursed, Shimei said,“ Get out, get out, you murderer, you scoundrel!The Lord has repaid you for all the blood you shed in the household of Saul, in whose place you have reigned. See how they lie in wait for me! Fierce men conspire against me for no offense or sin of mine, Lord. (niv)

If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened; (niv)

if you put away the sin that is in your hand and allow no evil to dwell in your tent, (niv)

Is that why you have all conspired against me? No one tells me when my son makes a covenant with the son of Jesse. None of you is concerned about me or tells me that my son has incited my servant to lie in wait for me, as he does today.” (niv)

“ The Mighty One, God, the Lord! The Mighty One, God, the Lord! He knows! And let Israel know! If this has been in rebellion or disobedience to the Lord, do not spare us this day. (niv)

And he added,“ Why is my lord pursuing his servant? What have I done, and what wrong am I guilty of?Now let my lord the king listen to his servant’s words. If the Lord has incited you against me, then may he accept an offering. If, however, people have done it, may they be cursed before the Lord! They have driven me today from my share in the Lord’s inheritance and have said,‘ Go, serve other gods.’ (niv)

As for you, show kindness to your servant, for you have brought him into a covenant with you before the Lord. If I am guilty, then kill me yourself! Why hand me over to your father?” (niv)

yet my hands have been free of violence and my prayer is pure.“ Earth, do not cover my blood; may my cry never be laid to rest!Even now my witness is in heaven; my advocate is on high. (niv)

He said to Saul,“ Why do you listen when men say,‘ David is bent on harming you’? (niv)

Saul said to him,“ Why have you conspired against me, you and the son of Jesse, giving him bread and a sword and inquiring of God for him, so that he has rebelled against me and lies in wait for me, as he does today?” (niv)
