良善者將聞報而相慶兮。恃主者當歡欣而鼓舞。

The Lord hears the needy and does not despise his captive people.

The Lord hears those who are in need. He doesn’t forget his people in prison.

For the Lord hears the needy and does not despise his own people who are prisoners.

For the Lord hears the cries of the needy; he does not despise his imprisoned people.

God settles those who have been deserted in their own homes; he frees prisoners and grants them prosperity. But sinful rebels live in the desert.

They laid hands on the apostles and put them in a public jail.But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the doors of the prison, led them out, and said,

“ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and the regaining of sight to the blind, to set free those who are oppressed,

This oppressed man cried out and the LORD heard; he saved him from all his troubles.

They sat in utter darkness, bound in painful iron chains,

Herod planned to bring him out for public trial after the Passover.So Peter was kept in prison, but those in the church were earnestly praying to God for him.On that very night before Herod was going to bring him out for trial, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, while guards in front of the door were keeping watch over the prison.Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared, and a light shone in the prison cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up, saying,“ Get up quickly!” And the chains fell off Peter’s wrists.The angel said to him,“ Fasten your belt and put on your sandals.” Peter did so. Then the angel said to him,“ Put on your cloak and follow me.”Peter went out and followed him; he did not realize that what was happening through the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision.After they had passed the first and second guards, they came to the iron gate leading into the city. It opened for them by itself, and they went outside and walked down one narrow street, when at once the angel left him.When Peter came to himself, he said,“ Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from everything the Jewish people were expecting to happen.”

“ Because of the violence done to the oppressed, because of the painful cries of the needy, I will spring into action,” says the LORD.“ I will provide the safety they so desperately desire.”

vindicates the oppressed, and gives food to the hungry. The LORD releases the imprisoned.

Moreover, as for you, because of our covenant relationship secured with blood, I will release your prisoners from the waterless pit.Return to the stronghold, you prisoners, with hope; today I declare that I will return double what was taken from you.

LORD, you have heard the request of the oppressed; you make them feel secure because you listen to their prayer.
