The Lord hears the needy and does not despise his captive people.

The Lord hears those who are in need. He doesn’t forget his people in prison.

For the Lord hears the needy and does not despise his own people who are prisoners.

The Spirit of the Lord[ is] upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

This poor man cried, and the LORD heard[ him], and saved him out of all his troubles.

Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death,[ being] bound in affliction and iron;

For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,

To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;

He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.

Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast[ some] of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

For all those[ things] hath mine hand made, and all those[ things] have been, saith the LORD: but to this[ man] will I look,[ even] to[ him that is] poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.

For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and[ him] that hath no helper.He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy.He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in his sight.

And when he had apprehended him, he put[ him] in prison, and delivered[ him] to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon[ him], and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from[ his] hands.And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and[ from] all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the LORD; I will set[ him] in safety[ from him that] puffeth at him.

Which executeth judgment for the oppressed: which giveth food to the hungry. The LORD looseth the prisoners:

As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein[ is] no water.Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope: even to day do I declare[ that] I will render double unto thee;
