但是，雅各啊！那创造你的耶和华，以色列啊！那塑造你的主，现在这样说：“不要惧怕，因为我救赎了你；我按着你的名呼召了你；你是属我的。你从水中经过的时候，我必与你同在；你渡过江河的时候，水必不淹没你；你从火中行走的时候，必不会烧伤；火焰也不会在你身上烧起来。

神却把死的痛苦解除，使他复活了，因为他不能被死亡拘禁。

蛇在妇人后面，从口中吐出水来，好像江河一样，要把妇人冲去。地却帮助了那妇人，张开口，把从龙口中吐出来的河水吞了。

说：“我从患难中求告耶和华，他就应允我；我从阴间的深府呼求，你就垂听我的声音。你把我投入深海，在海洋的深处，大水环绕我；你的洪涛、你的波浪，都漫过我。我说：‘我虽从你眼前被赶逐，我仍要仰望你的圣殿。’众水包围我，几乎置我于死地；深渊环绕我；海草缠裹我的头。我下沉直到山麓，大地的门闩把我永远关闭；耶和华我的神啊！你却把我的性命从坑中拉上来。当我心灵疲弱时，我就思念耶和华；我的祷告直达你面前，进入你的圣殿。

这样，他们和一切属他们的，都活活地下到阴间，地在他们上面合闭，他们就从会众中灭亡了。在他们四周的以色列众人，听见他们的呼叫，就都逃跑，说：“恐怕地也把我们吞下去。”

我被列在下坑的人中，就像一个没有气力的人一样。我被弃在死人之中，好像被杀的人躺在坟墓里；你不再记念他们，他们也和你（“你”原文作“你的手”）隔绝了。你把我放在最深的坑里，把我放在黑暗的地方和深渊里。

那时，洪水漫过我们，急流淹没我们；汹涌的洪水把我们淹没。

又预先看见了这事，就讲论基督的复活说：‘他不会被撇在阴间，他的肉身也不见朽坏。’

约拿怎样三日三夜在大鱼的腹中，人子也要照样三日三夜在地里。

因为你必不把我的灵魂撇在阴间，也必不容你的圣者见朽坏（“朽坏”或译：“深渊”）。
