You gave abundant showers, O God; you refreshed your weary inheritance.

God, you gave us plenty of rain. You renewed your worn- out land.

You, O God, sent a plentiful rain, Whereby You confirmed Your inheritance, When it was weary.

He rained down manna for them to eat; he gave them the grain of heaven.Man ate the food of the mighty ones. then he promises,“ I will send rain for your land in its season, the autumn and the spring rains, so that you may gather in your grain, new wine, and olive oil.

I will turn them and the regions around my hill into a blessing. I will make showers come down in their season; they will be showers that bring blessing.

You visit the earth and give it rain; you make it rich and fertile with overflowing streams full of water. You provide grain for them, for you prepare the earth to yield its crops.You saturate its furrows, and soak its plowed ground. With rain showers you soften its soil, and make its crops grow.You crown the year with your good blessings, and you leave abundance in your wake.The pastures in the wilderness glisten with moisture, and the hills are clothed with joy.The meadows are clothed with sheep, and the valleys are covered with grain. They shout joyfully, yes, they sing.

The waters saw you, O God, the waters saw you and trembled. Yes, the depths of the sea shook with fear.The clouds poured down rain; the skies thundered. Yes, your arrows flashed about.

For the land where you are headed is not like the land of Egypt from which you came, a land where you planted seed and which you irrigated by hand like a vegetable garden.Instead, the land you are crossing the Jordan to occupy is one of hills and valleys, a land that drinks in water from the rains,a land the LORD your God looks after. He is constantly attentive to it from the beginning to the end of the year.
