On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night.

As I lie on my bed I remember you. I think of you all night long.

whenever I remember you on my bed, and think about you during the nighttime hours.

But each day the Lord pours his unfailing love upon me, and through each night I sing his songs, praying to God who gives me life.

Let the faithful rejoice that he honors them. Let them sing for joy as they lie on their beds.

I rise early, before the sun is up; I cry out for help and put my hope in your words.I stay awake through the night, thinking about your promise.

I reflect at night on who you are, O Lord; therefore, I obey your instructions.

I slept, but my heart was awake, when I heard my lover knocking and calling:“ Open to me, my treasure, my darling, my dove, my perfect one. My head is drenched with dew, my hair with the dampness of the night.”

One night as I lay in bed, I yearned for my lover. I yearned for him, but he did not come.So I said to myself,“ I will get up and roam the city, searching in all its streets and squares. I will search for the one I love.” So I searched everywhere but did not find him.

You don’t let me sleep. I am too distressed even to pray!I think of the good old days, long since ended,when my nights were filled with joyful songs. I search my soul and ponder the difference now.

How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered!I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!

Rise during the night and cry out. Pour out your hearts like water to the Lord. Lift up your hands to him in prayer, pleading for your children, for in every street they are faint with hunger.
