But as for me, LORD, my prayer to you is for a time of favor. In your abundant, faithful love, God, answer me with your sure salvation.Rescue me from the miry mud; don’t let me sink. Let me be rescued from those who hate me and from the deep water.Don’t let the floodwaters sweep over me or the deep swallow me up; don’t let the Pit close its mouth over me.Answer me, LORD, for your faithful love is good. Those who know your name trust in you because you have not abandoned those who seek you, LORD.

I will dwell in your tent forever and take refuge under the shelter of your wings. Selah

Go, my people, enter your rooms and close your doors behind you. Hide for a little while until the wrath has passed.

Be gracious to me, God, for a man is trampling me; he fights and oppresses me all day long.

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; grief, crying, and pain will be no more, because the previous things have passed away.

Who among you fears the LORD and listens to his servant? Who among you walks in darkness, and has no light? Let him trust in the name of the LORD; let him lean on his God.

The one who lives under the protection of the Most High dwells in the shadow of the Almighty.

Brothers and sisters, take the prophets who spoke in the Lord’s name as an example of suffering and patience.See, we count as blessed those who have endured. You have heard of Job’s endurance and have seen the outcome that the Lord brought about— the Lord is compassionate and merciful.

May your faithful love comfort me as you promised your servant.May your compassion come to me so that I may live, for your instruction is my delight.

I said to him,“ Sir, you know.” Then he told me: These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Pay homage to the Son or he will be angry and you will perish in your rebellion, for his anger may ignite at any moment. All who take refuge in him are happy.

Because you have made the LORD— my refuge, the Most High— your dwelling place,

Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion. It cannot be shaken; it remains forever.

Do you really speak righteously, you mighty ones? Do you judge people fairly?

So David left Gath and took refuge in the cave of Adullam. When David’s brothers and his father’s whole family heard, they went down and joined him there.

When Saul came to the sheep pens along the road, a cave was there, and he went in to relieve himself. David and his men were staying in the recesses of the cave,

Truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn, but the world will rejoice. You will become sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn to joy.

After that, David got up, went out of the cave, and called to Saul,“ My lord the king!” When Saul looked behind him, David knelt low with his face to the ground and paid homage.

“ Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her. How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!
