Then my enemies will turn back when I call for help. By this I will know that God is for me.

When my enemies turn back, they stumble and perish in your presence.

‘ Call to me, and I will answer you, and will show you great and difficult things, which you don’t know.’

When evildoers came at me to eat up my flesh, even my adversaries and my foes, they stumbled and fell.

I will strike them through, so that they will not be able to rise. They shall fall under my feet.For you have armed me with strength to the battle. You have subdued under me those who rose up against me.You have also made my enemies turn their backs to me, that I might cut off those who hate me.They cried, but there was no one to save; even to Yahweh, but he didn’t answer them.Then I beat them small as the dust before the wind. I cast them out as the mire of the streets.

Moses said to Joshua,“ Choose men for us, and go out, fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with God’s rod in my hand.”So Joshua did as Moses had told him, and fought with Amalek; and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.When Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed.
