Don’t let them get away with their wickedness; in your anger, O God, bring them down.

上帝啊，不要讓這些作惡的人逃脫，求你在怒中毀滅他們。

願他們因罪孽的緣故不能逃脫；神啊！願你在怒中使這些人敗落。

願你因他們的罪孽也照樣將報應秤給他們。上帝啊，願你以震怒、使別族之民敗落。

他們既有這些罪，難道還能逃脫嗎？神哪，求你在怒氣中使這民眾敗落！

恃惡豈能免罰、上帝歟、尚其發怒、傾覆斯族兮、

彼惟作惡、曷能逭罰、上帝兮、怒責斯民、使之隕墜。

彼眾作惡、豈能逃脫、求天主震怒、使此民墮落、

鳩眾埋伏。窺我蹤跡。處心積慮。欲褫我魄。

Because of their wickedness do not let them escape; in your anger, God, bring the nations down.

Because they are so evil, make sure you don’t let them escape. God, bring down the nations in your anger.

For their crime will they escape? In wrath cast down the peoples, O God!

Will they escape in spite of such sin? God, bring down the nations in wrath.

Because of their wickedness, will there be an escape for them? In anger make the peoples fall down, God!

Shall they escape by iniquity? In anger cast down the peoples, O God!

Shall they escape by iniquity? In anger cast down the peoples, O God.

Will they escape in spite of such sin? God, bring down the nations in wrath.

Shall they escape by iniquity? in[ thine] anger cast down the people, O God.

Because they are bent on violence, do not let them escape! In your anger bring down the nations, O God!

But you, O God, will send the wicked down to the pit of destruction. Murderers and liars will die young, but I am trusting you to save me.

and then come here and stand before me in my Temple and chant,“ We are safe!”— only to go right back to all those evils again?

Let death stalk my enemies; let the grave swallow them alive, for evil makes its home within them.

Lord, hear me and help me! Listen to what my enemies are saying.Should they repay evil for good? They have dug a pit to kill me, though I pleaded for them and tried to protect them from your anger.So let their children starve! Let them die by the sword! Let their wives become childless widows. Let their old men die in a plague, and let their young men be killed in battle!Let screaming be heard from their homes as warriors come suddenly upon them. For they have dug a pit for me and have hidden traps along my path.Lord, you know all about their murderous plots against me. Don’t forgive their crimes and blot out their sins. Let them die before you. Deal with them in your anger.

Pour out your wrath on the nations that refuse to acknowledge you— on the peoples that do not call upon your name. For they have devoured your people Israel; they have devoured and consumed them, making the land a desolate wilderness.

You boast,“ We have struck a bargain to cheat death and have made a deal to dodge the grave. The coming destruction can never touch us, for we have built a strong refuge made of lies and deception.”

Confuse them, Lord, and frustrate their plans, for I see violence and conflict in the city.

But you are pure and cannot stand the sight of evil. Will you wink at their treachery? Should you be silent while the wicked swallow up people more righteous than they?

None of us can hold back our spirit from departing. None of us has the power to prevent the day of our death. There is no escaping that obligation, that dark battle. And in the face of death, wickedness will certainly not rescue the wicked.

Look! Those who do evil have fallen! They are thrown down, never to rise again.

Can unjust leaders claim that God is on their side— leaders whose decrees permit injustice?They gang up against the righteous and condemn the innocent to death.
