[ How] thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and plantedst them;[ how] thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out.

爾施大力、降災於異邦而驅逐之兮、爾使選民、安居厥所兮、

主手驅逐異邦人、栽培我列祖、將彼滅絕、使我列祖蕃衍、

吾主古時恩。先輩遞相述。吾儕耳所聞。聖跡何烈烈。

With your hand you drove out the nations and planted our ancestors; you crushed the peoples and made our ancestors flourish.

By your power you drove out the nations. You gave our people homes in the land. You crushed the people who were there. And you made our people do well.

you with your own hand drove out the nations, but them you planted; you afflicted the peoples, but them you set free;

You drove out the pagan nations by your power and gave all the land to our ancestors. You crushed their enemies and set our ancestors free.

In order to plant them, you displaced the nations by your hand; in order to settle them, you brought disaster on the peoples.

You with Your own hand drove out the nations; Then You planted them; You afflicted the peoples, Then You let them go free.

You drove out the nations with Your hand, But them You planted; You afflicted the peoples, and cast them out.

Thou didst drive out the nations with thy hand; But them thou didst plant: Thou didst afflict the peoples; But them thou didst spread abroad.

to plant them, You drove out the nations with Your hand; to settle them, You crushed the peoples.

You, by your power, defeated nations and settled our fathers on their land; you crushed the people living there and enabled our ancestors to occupy it.

He cast out the heathen also before them, and divided them an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.

Thou shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of thine inheritance,[ in] the place, O LORD,[ which] thou hast made for thee to dwell in,[ in] the Sanctuary, O Lord,[ which] thy hands have established.

Who smote great nations, and slew mighty kings;Sihon king of the Amorites, and Og king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan:And gave their land[ for] an heritage, an heritage unto Israel his people.

When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;

And all these kings and their land did Joshua take at one time, because the LORD God of Israel fought for Israel.

Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it.Thou preparedst[ room] before it, and didst cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land.The hills were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof[ were like] the goodly cedars.She sent out her boughs unto the sea, and her branches unto the river.

And gave them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited the labour of the people;

And the LORD gave unto Israel all the land which he sware to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein.

So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD said unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war.

And I sent the hornet before you, which drave them out from before you,[ even] the two kings of the Amorites;[ but] not with thy sword, nor with thy bow.

And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it,[ is] a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it[ are] men of a great stature.

Moreover thou gavest them kingdoms and nations, and didst divide them into corners: so they possessed the land of Sihon, and the land of the king of Heshbon, and the land of Og king of Bashan.Their children also multipliedst thou as the stars of heaven, and broughtest them into the land, concerning which thou hadst promised to their fathers, that they should go in to possess[ it].So the children went in and possessed the land, and thou subduedst before them the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, and gavest them into their hands, with their kings, and the people of the land, that they might do with them as they would.And they took strong cities, and a fat land, and possessed houses full of all goods, wells digged, vineyards, and oliveyards, and fruit trees in abundance: so they did eat, and were filled, and became fat, and delighted themselves in thy great goodness.Nevertheless they were disobedient, and rebelled against thee, and cast thy law behind their backs, and slew thy prophets which testified against them to turn them to thee, and they wrought great provocations.Therefore thou deliveredst them into the hand of their enemies, who vexed them: and in the time of their trouble, when they cried unto thee, thou heardest[ them] from heaven; and according to thy manifold mercies thou gavest them saviours, who saved them out of the hand of their enemies.

And I will send hornets before thee, which shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite, from before thee.

But the hand of the LORD was heavy upon them of Ashdod, and he destroyed them, and smote them with emerods,[ even] Ashdod and the coasts thereof.And when the men of Ashdod saw that[ it was] so, they said, The ark of the God of Israel shall not abide with us: for his hand is sore upon us, and upon Dagon our god.

Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime,

For the horse of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and the LORD brought again the waters of the sea upon them; but the children of Israel went on dry[ land] in the midst of the sea.

Observe thou that which I command thee this day: behold, I drive out before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite.

And Joshua said, Hereby ye shall know that the living God[ is] among you, and[ that] he will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Hivites, and the Perizzites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Jebusites.

To him which smote great kings: for his mercy[ endureth] for ever:And slew famous kings: for his mercy[ endureth] for ever:Sihon king of the Amorites: for his mercy[ endureth] for ever:And Og the king of Bashan: for his mercy[ endureth] for ever:And gave their land for an heritage: for his mercy[ endureth] for ever:[ Even] an heritage unto Israel his servant: for his mercy[ endureth] for ever.

And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel,[ and] were in the going down to Bethhoron, that the LORD cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died:[ they were] more which died with hailstones than[ they] whom the children of Israel slew with the sword.
