He did not delight in blessing; may it be far from him!He clothed himself with cursing as his coat; may it soak into his body like water, like oil into his bones!May it be like a garment that he wraps around him, like a belt that he puts on every day!May this be the reward of my accusers from the Lord, of those who speak evil against my life!But you, O God my Lord, deal on my behalf for your name’s sake; because your steadfast love is good, deliver me!

Your hand will find out all your enemies; your right hand will find out those who hate you.You will make them as a blazing oven when you appear. The Lord will swallow them up in his wrath, and fire will consume them.You will destroy their descendants from the earth, and their offspring from among the children of man.

But as for these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slaughter them before me.’”

I pursued my enemies and overtook them, and did not turn back till they were consumed.I thrust them through, so that they were not able to rise; they fell under my feet.For you equipped me with strength for the battle; you made those who rise against me sink under me.You made my enemies turn their backs to me, and those who hated me I destroyed.They cried for help, but there was none to save; they cried to the Lord, but he did not answer them.I beat them fine as dust before the wind; I cast them out like the mire of the streets.

But you, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.
