彼佩弓與刀。欲殺賢與良。

The wicked draw the sword and bend the bow to bring down the poor and needy, to slay those whose ways are upright.

Sinners pull out their swords. They bend their bows. They want to kill poor and needy people. They plan to murder those who lead honest lives.

The wicked draw their swords and string their bows to kill the poor and the oppressed, to slaughter those who do right.

Hide me from the secret plots of the wicked, from the throng of evildoers,who whet their tongues like swords, who aim bitter words like arrows,shooting from ambush at the blameless, shooting at him suddenly and without fear.They hold fast to their evil purpose; they talk of laying snares secretly, thinking,“ Who can see them?”They search out injustice, saying,“ We have accomplished a diligent search.” For the inward mind and heart of a man are deep.

All my bones shall say,“ O Lord, who is like you, delivering the poor from him who is too strong for him, the poor and needy from him who robs him?”

When Peter came to himself, he said,“ Now I am sure that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from all that the Jewish people were expecting.”

He killed James the brother of John with the sword,and when he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to arrest Peter also. This was during the days of Unleavened Bread.

Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who announced beforehand the coming of the Righteous One, whom you have now betrayed and murdered,

We should not be like Cain, who was of the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own deeds were evil and his brother’s righteous.

Bloodthirsty men hate one who is blameless and seek the life of the upright.

Immediately an angel of the Lord struck him down, because he did not give God the glory, and he was eaten by worms and breathed his last.

You who are of purer eyes than to see evil and cannot look at wrong, why do you idly look at traitors and remain silent when the wicked swallows up the man more righteous than he?
