For evil people can’t sleep until they’ve done their evil deed for the day. They can’t rest until they’ve caused someone to stumble.

All day long I opened my arms to a rebellious people. But they follow their own evil paths and their own crooked schemes.

What sorrow awaits you who lie awake at night, thinking up evil plans. You rise at dawn and hurry to carry them out, simply because you have the power to do so.

Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good.

You who love the Lord, hate evil! He protects the lives of his godly people and rescues them from the power of the wicked.

What else can I do with my people?For their tongues shoot lies like poisoned arrows. They speak friendly words to their neighbors while scheming in their heart to kill them.Should I not punish them for this?” says the Lord.“ Should I not avenge myself against such a nation?”

How much less pure is a corrupt and sinful person with a thirst for wickedness!
