And you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the leaders of Judah: because out of you will come a leader who will shepherd My people Israel.”

Shepherd Your people with Your staff, the flock that is Your possession. They live alone in a woodland surrounded by pastures. Let them graze in Bashan and Gilead as in ancient times.

He will stand and shepherd them in the strength of Yahweh, in the majestic name of Yahweh His God. They will live securely, for then His greatness will extend to the ends of the earth.

God, redeem Israel, from all its distresses.

I will appoint over them a single shepherd, My servant David, and he will shepherd them. He will tend them himself and will be their shepherd.I, Yahweh, will be their God, and My servant David will be a prince among them. I, Yahweh, have spoken.

Return, God of Hosts. Look down from heaven and see; take care of this vine,the root Your right hand has planted, the shoot that You made strong for Yourself.It was cut down and burned up; they perish at the rebuke of Your countenance.Let Your hand be with the man at Your right hand, with the son of man You have made strong for Yourself.Then we will not turn away from You; revive us, and we will call on Your name.Restore us, Yahweh, the God of Hosts; look on us with favor, and we will be saved.

And you saw in the wilderness how the Lord your God carried you as a man carries his son all along the way you traveled until you reached this place.

He asked the Gibeonites,“ What should I do for you? How can I make atonement so that you will bring a blessing on the Lord’s inheritance?”

But the Lord’s portion is His people, Jacob, His own inheritance.

In all My journeys with all the Israelites, have I ever asked anyone among the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd My people Israel: Why haven’t you built Me a house of cedar?’
