I am afflicted and ready to die from my youth up. While I suffer your terrors, I am distracted.Your fierce wrath has gone over me. Your terrors have cut me off.They came around me like water all day long. They completely engulfed me.You have put lover and friend far from me, and my friends into darkness.

Deliver me out of the mire, and don’t let me sink. Let me be delivered from those who hate me, and out of the deep waters.Don’t let the flood waters overwhelm me, neither let the deep swallow me up. Don’t let the pit shut its mouth on me.Answer me, Yahweh, for your loving kindness is good. When the sixth hour had come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.At the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying,“ Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” which is, being interpreted,“ My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”Some of those who stood by, when they heard it, said,“ Behold, he is calling Elijah.”

God, you have rejected us. You have broken us down. You have been angry. Restore us, again.

He will again have compassion on us. He will tread our iniquities under foot; and you will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

“ Now therefore, our God, listen to the prayer of your servant, and to his petitions, and cause your face to shine on your sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord’s sake.
