As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

[ But] Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.

Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call upon his name; they called upon the LORD, and he answered them.He spake unto them in the cloudy pillar: they kept his testimonies, and the ordinance[ that] he gave them.

And Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites; and the children of Israel cried unto the LORD.
