Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in the Lord his God,

“ Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord.For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.

Happy are the people who are in such a state; Happy are the people whose God is the Lord!

For You are my hope, O Lord GOD; You are my trust from my youth.

Moreover He said,“ I am the God of your father— the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, The people He has chosen as His own inheritance.

The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah

Then Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled with him until the breaking of day.Now when He saw that He did not prevail against him, He touched the socket of his hip; and the socket of Jacob’s hip was out of joint as He wrestled with him.And He said,“ Let Me go, for the day breaks.” But he said,“ I will not let You go unless You bless me!”So He said to him,“ What is your name?” He said,“ Jacob.”And He said,“ Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed.”Then Jacob asked, saying,“ Tell me Your name, I pray.” And He said,“ Why is it that you ask about My name?” And He blessed him there.

“ And now, Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in You.

‘ Thus you shall say to Joseph:“ I beg you, please forgive the trespass of your brothers and their sin; for they did evil to you.”’ Now, please, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of your father.” And Joseph wept when they spoke to him.

O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer; Give ear, O God of Jacob! Selah

who through Him believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah

Happy are you, O Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord, The shield of your help And the sword of your majesty! Your enemies shall submit to you, And you shall tread down their high places.”

O Lord of hosts, Blessed is the man who trusts in You!
