Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord their God.

But joyful are those who have the God of Israel as their helper, whose hope is in the Lord their God.

Happy is the one whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God,

Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in the Lord his God,

Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in Jehovah his God:

Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in Yahweh, his God:

So Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him till daybreak.When the man saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the socket of Jacob’s hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with the man.Then the man said,“ Let me go, for it is daybreak.” But Jacob replied,“ I will not let you go unless you bless me.”The man asked him,“ What is your name?”“ Jacob,” he answered.Then the man said,“ Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome.”Jacob said,“ Please tell me your name.” But he replied,“ Why do you ask my name?” Then he blessed him there. “ But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you. (niv)

‘ This is what you are to say to Joseph: I ask you to forgive your brothers the sins and the wrongs they committed in treating you so badly.’ Now please forgive the sins of the servants of the God of your father.” When their message came to him, Joseph wept. (niv)

Hear my prayer, Lord God Almighty; listen to me, God of Jacob. (niv)

Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God. (niv)

The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. (niv)

Blessed are you, Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord? He is your shield and helper and your glorious sword. Your enemies will cower before you, and you will tread on their heights.” (niv)
