And do not lay a hand on their wealth On the day of their disaster.Do not stand at the crossroads To eliminate their survivors; And do not hand over their refugees On the day of their distress.

But He will punish your wrongdoing, daughter of Edom; He will expose your sins!

Concerning Edom. This is what the Lord of armies says:“ Is there no longer any wisdom in Teman? Has good advice been lost by the prudent? Has their wisdom decayed?Flee away, turn back, dwell in the depths, You inhabitants of Dedan, For I will bring the disaster of Esau upon him At the time I punish him.If grape pickers came to you, Would they not leave gleanings? You will not be held blameless, but you will certainly drink it.For I have sworn by Myself,” declares the Lord,“ that Bozrah will become an object of horror, a disgrace, a wasteland, and a curse; and all its cities will become permanent ruins.”I have heard a message from the Lord, And a messenger is being sent among the nations, saying,“ Gather yourselves together and come against her, And rise up for battle!”“ For behold, I have made you small among the nations, Despised among people.As for the terror you cause, The arrogance of your heart has deceived you, You who live in the clefts of the rock, Who occupy the height of the hill. Though you make your nest as high as an eagle’s, I will bring you down from there,” declares the Lord.“ Edom will become an object of horror; everyone who passes by it will be appalled and will hiss at all its wounds.Like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah with its neighbors,” says the Lord,“ no one will live there, nor will anyone of mankind reside in it.Behold, one will come up like a lion from the thicket of the Jordan to a perennially watered pasture; for in an instant I will chase him away from it, and I will appoint over it whoever is chosen. For who is like Me, and who will summon Me into court? And who then is the shepherd who can stand against Me?”Therefore hear the plan of the Lord which He has planned against Edom, and His purposes which He has in mind against the inhabitants of Teman: they will certainly drag them off, even the little ones of the flock; He will certainly make their pasture desolate because of them.The earth has quaked at the noise of their downfall. There is an outcry! The noise of it has been heard at the Red Sea.Behold, He will mount up and swoop like an eagle, and spread out His wings against Bozrah; and the hearts of the warriors of Edom on that day will be like the heart of a woman in labor.

This is what the Lord says:“ For three offenses of Edom, and for four, I will not revoke its punishment, Because he pursued his brother with the sword And stifled his compassion; His anger also tore continually, And he maintained his fury forever.

And they do not consider in their hearts That I remember all their wickedness. Now their deeds surround them; They are before My face.

Do not hold us responsible for the guilty deeds of our forefathers; Let Your compassion come quickly to meet us, For we have become very low.Help us, God of our salvation, for the glory of Your name; And save us and forgive our sins for the sake of Your name.Why should the nations say,“ Where is their God?” Let vengeance for the blood of Your servants which has been shed Be known among the nations in our sight.Let the groaning of the prisoner come before You; According to the greatness of Your power, let those who are doomed to die remain.And return to our neighbors seven times as much into their lap Their taunts with which they have taunted You, Lord.

Who is this who comes from Edom, With garments of glowing colors from Bozrah, This One who is majestic in His apparel, Marching in the greatness of His strength?“ It is I, the One who speaks in righteousness, mighty to save.”Why is Your apparel red, And Your garments like one who treads in the wine press?“ I have trodden the wine trough alone, And from the peoples there was no one with Me. I also trod them in My anger And trampled them in My wrath; And their lifeblood is sprinkled on My garments, And I stained all My clothes.For the day of vengeance was in My heart, And My year of redemption has come.I looked, but there was no one to help, And I was astonished and there was no one to uphold; So My own arm brought salvation to Me, And My wrath upheld Me.I trampled down the peoples in My anger And made them drunk with My wrath, And I poured out their lifeblood on the earth.”

For My sword has drunk its fill in heaven; Behold it shall descend for judgment upon Edom, And upon the people whom I have designated for destruction.The sword of the Lord is filled with blood, It drips with fat, with the blood of lambs and goats, With the fat of the kidneys of rams. For the Lord has a sacrifice in Bozrah, And a great slaughter in the land of Edom.

“ Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir, and prophesy against it

This is what the Lord of armies says:‘ I will punish Amalek for what he did to Israel, in that he obstructed him on the way while he was coming up from Egypt.

You went forth for the salvation of Your people, For the salvation of Your anointed. You smashed the head of the house of evil To uncover him from foot to neck. Selah

Then the house of Jacob will be a fire, And the house of Joseph a flame; But the house of Esau will be like stubble. And they will set them on fire and consume them, So that there will be no survivor of the house of Esau,” For the Lord has spoken.Then those of the Negev will possess the mountain of Esau, And those of the Shephelah the Philistine plain; Also, they will possess the territory of Ephraim and the territory of Samaria, And Benjamin the territory of Gilead.And the exiles of this army of the sons of Israel, Who are among the Canaanites as far as Zarephath, And the exiles of Jerusalem who are in Sepharad, Will possess the cities of the Negev.The deliverers will ascend Mount Zion To judge the mountain of Esau, And the kingdom will be the Lord’s.

Then the Lord said to Moses,“ Write this in a book as a memorial and recite it to Joshua, that I will utterly wipe out the memory of Amalek from under heaven.”

Remember this, Lord, that the enemy has taunted You, And a foolish people has treated Your name disrespectfully.
