Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord;

Lord, I cry out to you because I’m suffering so deeply.

Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord!

From the depths of despair, O Lord, I call for your help.

Out of the depths I call to you, LORD!

Out of the depths I have cried to You, O Lord;

Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O Jehovah.

From the deep water I cry out to you, O LORD.

Deep calls to deep at the sound of Your waterfalls; All Your breakers and Your waves have passed over me.

They have silenced me in the pit And have thrown stones on me.Waters flowed over my head; I said,“ I am cut off!”I called on Your name, Lord, Out of the lowest pit.

and he said,“ I called out of my distress to the Lord, And He answered me. I called for help from the depth of Sheol; You heard my voice.For You threw me into the deep, Into the heart of the seas, And the current flowed around me. All Your breakers and waves passed over me.So I said,‘ I have been cast out of Your sight. Nevertheless I will look again toward Your holy temple.’

Save me, God, For the waters have threatened my life.I have sunk in deep mud, and there is no foothold; I have come into deep waters, and a flood overflows me.

Rescue me from the mud and do not let me sink; May I be rescued from those who hate me, and from the depths of water.May the flood of water not overflow me Nor the deep swallow me up, Nor the pit close its mouth on me.

In the days of His humanity, He offered up both prayers and pleas with loud crying and tears to the One able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His devout behavior.

The snares of death encompassed me And the terrors of Sheol came upon me; I found distress and sorrow.Then I called upon the name of the Lord:“ Please, Lord, save my life!”

You who have shown me many troubles and distresses Will revive me again, And will bring me up again from the depths of the earth.

I will raise my eyes to the mountains; From where will my help come?

Turn to me and be gracious to me, For I am lonely and afflicted.The troubles of my heart are enlarged; Bring me out of my distresses.Look at my misery and my trouble, And forgive all my sins.

He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the mud; And He set my feet on a rock, making my footsteps firm.

He sent from on high, He took me; He drew me out of many waters.

When the Lord brought back the captives of Zion, We were like those who dream.

Unless the Lord builds a house, They who build it labor in vain; Unless the Lord guards a city, The watchman stays awake in vain.

“ Many times they have attacked me from my youth up,” Let Israel say,

To You I have raised my eyes, You who are enthroned in the heavens!

“ Had it not been the Lord who was on our side,” Let Israel say,

Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, Who walks in His ways.

Those who trust in the Lord Are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but remains forever.

The ropes of death encompassed me, And the torrents of destruction terrified me.The ropes of Sheol surrounded me; The snares of death confronted me.In my distress I called upon the Lord, And cried to my God for help; He heard my voice from His temple, And my cry for help before Him came into His ears.

I was glad when they said to me,“ Let’s go to the house of the Lord.”

You have put me in the lowest pit, In dark places, in the depths.Your wrath has rested upon me, And You have afflicted me with all Your waves. Selah
