Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord;

Lord, I cry out to you because I’m suffering so deeply.

From the depths of despair, O Lord, I call for your help.

Out of the depths I call to you, LORD!

Out of the depths I have cried to You, Lord.

Deep calls to deep at the roar of your waterfalls; all your breakers and your waves have gone over me.

they flung me alive into the pit and cast stones on me;water closed over my head; I said,‘ I am lost.’“ I called on your name, O Lord, from the depths of the pit;

saying,“ I called out to the Lord, out of my distress, and he answered me; out of the belly of Sheol I cried, and you heard my voice.For you cast me into the deep, into the heart of the seas, and the flood surrounded me; all your waves and your billows passed over me.Then I said,‘ I am driven away from your sight; yet I shall again look upon your holy temple.’

Save me, O God! For the waters have come up to my neck.I sink in deep mire, where there is no foothold; I have come into deep waters, and the flood sweeps over me.

Deliver me from sinking in the mire; let me be delivered from my enemies and from the deep waters.Let not the flood sweep over me, or the deep swallow me up, or the pit close its mouth over me.

In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence.

The snares of death encompassed me; the pangs of Sheol laid hold on me; I suffered distress and anguish.Then I called on the name of the Lord:“ O Lord, I pray, deliver my soul!”

You who have made me see many troubles and calamities will revive me again; from the depths of the earth you will bring me up again.

I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come?

Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted.The troubles of my heart are enlarged; bring me out of my distresses.Consider my affliction and my trouble, and forgive all my sins.

He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.

He sent from on high, he took me; he drew me out of many waters.

When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream.

Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.

“ Greatly have they afflicted me from my youth”— let Israel now say—

To you I lift up my eyes, O you who are enthroned in the heavens!

If it had not been the Lord who was on our side— let Israel now say—

Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in his ways!

Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever.

The cords of death encompassed me; the torrents of destruction assailed me;the cords of Sheol entangled me; the snares of death confronted me.In my distress I called upon the Lord; to my God I cried for help. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry to him reached his ears.

I was glad when they said to me,“ Let us go to the house of the Lord!”

You have put me in the depths of the pit, in the regions dark and deep.Your wrath lies heavy upon me, and you overwhelm me with all your waves. Selah
