我還告訴你，你是石頭彼得；在這磐石上我要建立我的教會，陰間的門戶必沒有力量勝過她。

誰能使我們和基督的愛隔絕呢？難道是苦難麼？是困迫麼？是逼迫麼？是饑餓麼？是赤身麼？是危險麼？是刀劍麼？是像經上所記：「我們為你的緣故、終日被處死、看為將被屠宰的羊」麼？不；在這一切事上、我們藉着那愛了我們的、倒是得勝有餘了。因為我深信，無論是死、是活，是天使、是「眾執政的」，是現在的事、是將來的事，是「一切有權能的」，是高處、是深處，或是任何別的被創造之物，都不能使我們跟上帝的愛、那在我們主基督耶穌裏的愛、隔絕。

他們不能得勝，在天上再也找不着他們的地位了。於是大龍被摔下：大龍就是古蛇，叫魔鬼又叫撒但的，就是那迷惑普天下的。他被摔在地上，他的使者也同他被摔下。

我們四面受逼，卻沒有被困住；計謀絕了，卻沒有絕望；遭逼迫，卻沒有被撇棄；被打倒，卻沒打到死去；

倚靠永恆主的好像錫安山、總不搖動。

我將這些事告訴你們，是要使你們有平安於我裏面。在世界、你們有苦難；但你們要放膽，我已經勝了世界。』

你六次遭難，他都必援救你；就是七次，禍患也不會觸害着你。

你使勁推我，要叫我跌倒，但永恆主卻幫助了我。

上帝啊，我的心切慕着你，如同鹿切慕有水的溪河。

義人多有禍患；但永恆主援救他脫離這一切；
